Is "cup of I am a big brain" slang for PCP?raider_kin wrote Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:59 am:Wow, Ivan had an extra cup of "I am a big brain" this morning.

I wasn't able to watch much of the game, but just went through the game day thread. Lot's of criticism of our OC - came across this article discussing Hondo Carpenter's discussion of the AOC's limited playbook that Bo has to work with. I don't have any opinions on it's legitimacy, just putting it out there.pillaging4fun » Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:17 pm
Late to the thread but was wondering all night about this. Disclaimer: I hate shuttling QB's in most every situation but...NoClapsPlease » Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:32 pm
According to Hondo, fangio showed some looks that they haven’t shown the entire seasonmranquales » Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:33 pm
If we took FG's we win that game.RaiderCed » Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:34 pm
Agreed...if AOC can learn to step up in the pocket and run with the ball....might be a different story.AdamJoshua28 wrote Sun Nov 19, 2023 2:07 pm:Need a mobile QB.

I think, just guessing based on what I saw, it was just a rookie getting in over his head. Game sped up and he did not keep up. But the line really did the team as a whole any good whatsoever.pillaging4fun wrote Mon Nov 20, 2023 2:17 pm:Late to the thread but was wondering all night about this. AOC clearly made a play that I don't think Jimmy G. could have in the first half with the deep throw to Adams.
But as has been stated on the thread in the second half - especially the 3rd quarter - he struggled perhaps due to adjustments Fangio made at half. (or the terrible O-line play)
If the goal is a W, couldn't inserting Jimmy for the final quarter potentially have changed the outcome. Both look to me to be pocket passers with little to no real mobility. But Jimmy clearly has been down in tight games more and found ways to win.
Admittedly the O-Line might have made this a moot point as clearly they cannot effectively run or pass block based on the 11 game sample size I have watched.
Just seems AOC might have benefitted from watching how Jimmy G handled a close game and perhaps the outcome might have gone differently.

He’s holding the ball too long. Which means he’s not seeing the field either pre or post snap. He seems to be looking into Adams all too often.grosse gurke » Mon Nov 20, 2023 5:08 pm
AOC played well. Not sure everyone is seeing the game I am. I thought running on 3rd and short killed us. I thought going for it on 4th instead of taking the points killed us. Sure he had one bad pic. One on 4th down didnt matter. One taking a shot that would not have been needed if we just kicked fg's.Raider727 » Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:23 pm
Bad play calling, bad situational football and bad Oline blocking is what lost this game.Willmark » Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:35 pm
Van Roten has been solid but for the most part. Parham on the other hand has been killing us all year long, especially in the run game.chucker wrote Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:41 am:We don't just need better oline depth - we need better starters. If we have a healthy, stable unit, then we can survive with one good player (Miller) and a bunch of JAGs. But JAGs can't make up for the absence of the guy next to them like better players can. We need more players on the line who are good enough at something so you can lean into that part of their game - especially when you're missing a valuable guy like Miller. If we had a mauler at guard, then Miller's absence wouldn't hurt as much.

They did have a designed roll out and AO looked comfortable. I hope that is something that Bo does more of going forward. AO's biggest issue to me is his lack of pocket presence. The OL obviously did not do him any favors, but neither did Bo. This kid needs more help to be successful (but he can be successful unlike our last few QB's).
