Hum I dont know about that, O'Connell has a future HOFer in Adams, last years rushing leader in Jacobs, Myers, renfrow, mayer.... im mean that is a pretty stacked roster for a rookie QB. The line could be better, but its still ranked 11th right now, far from the bottom.Rdrfn64 wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 6:56 pm:The way I see it is AOC is doing better with less than all the other so-called franchise changing QB's drafted last year. That's a bingo.SkullCrusher wrote Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:33 pm:It would just prove his narcissism, because it wasn't run well in the last 20 years of his life and Mark has a new facility and stadium paid for. He wouldn't be happy with the W/L but again he handed off to Mark a very poorly run franchise that wasn't winning.

I understand every team does it. If you don't believe every school is guilty of what Michigan was doing then I don't know what to tell you. The entire thing was overblownSold My Soul wrote Wed Dec 06, 2023 7:00 pm:What part of sign stealing do you fail to understand?
Amazing how much better the QB looks when the D plays lights out.
Thus the sign stealing....

He’s doing less with more really. Raiders have a top RB, HOF WR, Meyers is a #1 WR on some teams. Renfrow is very solid, stud rookie TE in Mayer and an average offensive line. Tell me what rookie quarterback this season has had better tools to work with than AOC? Certainly not Stroud, Young or Levis. If anything, AOC’s stats are not very impressive given the talent he has to work with.Rdrfn64 wrote Mon Dec 04, 2023 6:56 pm:The way I see it is AOC is doing better with less than all the other so-called franchise changing QB's drafted last year. I agree. The only thing O'Connell has lacked is time as the #1 guy prepping with the 1's - and now that he's had 4 weeks in that role we should expect to see some of the development that comes from that. Now both he and Hardegree have had a bye week as well. O'Connell is getting a real opportunity. He has to do something with it.heavyD wrote Thu Dec 07, 2023 6:45 am:He’s doing less with more really. We are already ahead of the game in regards to AO and we are playing with house money. WORST case is that he is our long term back up which is a BIG win for us. We are just lucky that AP had the stones (after a prudent move by Mark offing the staff) to commit to him long term. That in itself makes me like AP! At least we can truly evaluate and develop him which was not going to happen with McDouche.Raiders Baby » Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:17 am
The difference between AO and the last guy is that AO is on a 4th round rookie deal. The way I see it, we have some flexibility as a result — if we don’t see a QB we love, it’s very cheap to continue to evaluate AO while making this roster much more complete via Best Player Available. Eventually we will need to upgrade AO if he’s not the guy, but in some ways we’re playing with house money until the time comes to make a contract decision with him. Could use that time to really make the roster complete (would Purdy be good if he came into a situation like ours?)GUYDON wrote Wed Dec 06, 2023 8:08 pm:Hum I dont know about that, O'Connell has a future HOFer in Adams, last years rushing leader in Jacobs, Myers, renfrow, mayer.... im mean that is a pretty stacked roster for a rookie QB. Some is on the OC, but O'Connell has to play MUCH better and he needs to do it soon.
We can make all the excuses in the world for him (like we did the last guy) but eventually if he is going to be the guy, he has to look like the guy.
Nothing would make me happier than to see him get his footing these last 5 weeks. But right now Im ready to draft a QB if he doesnt step up pretty quick. I want to see a dominant performance from the kid. Something to build on. Right now he looks wobbly and unsure. Its to be expected, but I would love one game that makes you go "he is the guy"
He had a few games and a bye week. We should see some decent improvement this week.

Outside shout that will probably get laughed at…. Frank Reich. 12 months ago most of us would’ve jumped at the chance to have him. Didn’t get a QB at Indi but always looked a good coach to me, this year it was a shit show but I think it was mainly the owners fault. Hired staff he didn't want and then a QB he didn’t want over CJ Stroud.16 to 88 » Thu Dec 07, 2023 10:27 pm
We currently are #31 in rushing in the entire NFL. Every one of the QB's you listed, their teams are above us in rushing.heavyD wrote Thu Dec 07, 2023 6:45 am:He’s doing less with more really. AOC is not the qb for today's NFL, his complete lack of mobility just doesn't cut it. He shows flashes of great accuracy/poise but is wildy inconsistent and his arm strength is pretty mediocre. If the Raiders want to reignite excitement in the franchise you draft one of the top qb prospects at the top of the draft (hopefully Daniels) and go from there.heavyD » Fri Dec 08, 2023 6:55 am
I'm not going to be rude and laugh but there's zero chance Mark takes a flyer on Reich as head coach after the disastrous season he just had. He's the one head coach this season that rivals McDaniels for incompetence. Zero chance. Now if AP keeps the gig I may not be opposed to Reich as OC but that's it.WolfRaider wrote Thu Dec 07, 2023 7:59 pm:Outside shout that will probably get laughed at…. Potentially bring Eberflus with him to recreate the Colts coaching staff. That was always well coached.
