we do?silver_ghost wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:44 pm:I wouldn't touch any of these QBs with a barge pole. We have two QBs that right now are better than any of them.

AOC is accurate, a hard worker, has sound fundamentals & good footwork. We have won with him amidst all this turmoil. The game next season will slow down for him. An experienced OC with a better game plan will be able to get more out of him. Jimmy G too in a west-coast Shanahan-style offense too is a proven QB. He has won games taken his team deep into playoffs. His problem is he has trouble keeping himself healthy.Attyla wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:48 pm:we do?

We won 8 games this season somebody has to put points on the board to win those games. The same dude can be our QB next season. He has a year under his belt and knows what to expect in the NFL. I fully expect him to be better than any of the guys who are on the list.Raidernation1979 wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:54 pm:Who? Why didn’t we play them?

His accuracy was inconsistent at best. Arm mediocre. Zero pocket presence. So far all he’s shown is he’s a back up. Also the defense put up a lot of the pointssilver_ghost wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:02 pm:We won 8 games this season somebody has to put points on the board to win those games. Who puts points on the board against the Vikings then?silver_ghost wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:02 pm:We won 8 games this season somebody has to put points on the board to win those games. Too bad Jimmy G string would break his leg putting on his jock strap. If a QB isn't available he is worthless. Jimmy is unavailable all too often. Plus, we need a QB that can throw farther than 20 yards.silver_ghost wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:57 pm:AOC is accurate, a hard worker, has sound fundamentals & good footwork. Please NO Justin Fields trade...haji81872 » Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:25 pm
OK, so who should we get.tatalalicious wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:17 am:Agreed. The Raiders investing a pick in the early rounds (preferably 1st) is a requirement to me, not an option. Every other move they make flows from there. Look at the Packers and Houston these playoffs and the unexpected progress those teams have made in one season having found their qb. Look at the 49ers with all that talent on both sides of the ball and it still feels like having a Purdy (not saying he's terrible but just decent) at qb isn't maximizing that talent, same with TB trying to get away with Mayfield as their starter.
I think alot of fans wanting to bring in options like a Fields is on the premise that he'll be good enough while the defense is made even better. I don't see this working, defenses in today's nfl even the best get exposed and end up getting scored on at will at some point, apart from a few exceptions. It's inevitable that the Raiders will have get their guy at the top of a draft, why not now with so many good options available. Fields and qbs like him in the market are available because they aren't franchise qbs.

He had a bad game against the Vikings. He is a rookie with an OC who was learning on the job. A lot of rookies have a few bad games. It's part of the learning curve.CWood24 wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:08 pm:Who puts points on the board against the Vikings then?
AOC basically threw 1TD per game that ain't putting up points
You can’t have a statue standing in the pocket in today game you meed mobility to get it done it is the way the leagues evolving

Look at the list of the QBs, none of them have won anything ever in NFL. Jimmy G has taken his football team deep into playoffs. Would you say he has better credentials than the ones on the list? His arm was good enough to win games with the 49ers. Is it possible that his play didn't fit the offense that JMac wanted him to run? Agreed he had come from the Patriots but his body of work was with the 49ers. He had a rating of 96, 90, 102, 92, 98, and 103 with the 49ers and it slumped to 77. Why? It's a question that deserves some analysis.Dr Death wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:11 pm:Too bad Jimmy G string would break his leg putting on his jock strap. If a QB isn't available he is worthless. Good lord, how many options you want? I only went with possible first round QB's otherwise I would have had to add about another 8 names.Ismail86 wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:06 am:If you're going to put Tyrod and Stick on the list of "starting QB's" don't you think it's fair to include Michael Pratt, Russell Wilson and Spencer Rattler?

did you watch Jimmy in the offense he was supposed to be good in under McDaniels. And did you O'Connell averaged 206 yards and 1 TD per game. 62% completion percentage is below average. He could not feel the pass rush.silver_ghost wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:57 pm:AOC is accurate, a hard worker, has sound fundamentals & good footwork. We have won with him amidst all this turmoil. It takes two to tango and we don't have a willing dance partner to move into the top 3. Unless you mean you want to move up to grab Nix on Pennix?Marzan wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:52 am:Spot on. But our fanbase is terrified of gambling with a bunch of firsts to trade up.
As someone who’s seen us squandering first round picks on the likes of Gareon Conley,
Alex Leatherwood or DJ Hayden, I say what have you got to lose? A QB that makes it past the scouting departments of every franchise to the second round is not a QB that will make you a perpetual contender
