If we keep Champ as assistant GM then I'm happy with this hire. The Chargers have been snakebit with injuries, but part of the issue is the contracts they give to injury prone players - sometimes a team just needs to move on from a guy who is struggling to stay on the field (Waller for one).Attyla » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:09 pm
31 teams, that works out to 4+ per team over 10 years?"For reference, all other teams have drafted 127 pro bowlers outside of round 1 since 2013."

We dont know what input he had but i seems the two knocks on him we have covered so i’m hopeful of a long term upturn in the franchise fortunes for oncebringdafunk wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:01 pm:I'm pretty sure TT didn't hire the coaches and didn't do the contracts in SD/LA.

That number seems awfully high.Attyla wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:09 pm:31 teams, that works out to 4+ per team over 10 years?

Glad they hired someone outside the building with some experience. This is good hire for AP.Southshield wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 12:33 pm:Wow, a surprise for sure but I am good with it. He has drafted good players just has had awful coaches since the Spanos' don't spend on coaches (until now).

I don’t know exactly how accurate that is, but if you look at his drafts, as a whole, they’re lackluster.Attyla wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:09 pm:31 teams, that works out to 4+ per team over 10 years?

Those players also performed for them as well like Dru Tranquill or Kyzir White, some times players just want to test FA or they dont fit the next coaching staffOaktown Superman wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:07 pm:Not being a smart alek but you don’t draft for the players to do good elsewhere. RM did that quite a bit, but it didn’t help the Raiders get better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Telesco the first official GM in Raider history with previous NFL GM experience?Fade2SilverAndBlack » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:21 pm
What's that Randy Moss quote about something fishy going on...Oaktown Superman » Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:22 pm
Nope, Gruden, as he was Tampa’s GM, too, iirc. If not officially titled GM, he was the GM.Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:19 pm:Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Telesco the first official GM in Raider history with previous NFL GM experience?

But if they really wanted them they could’ve made it work, IMO.CWood24 wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:16 pm:Those players also performed for them as well like Dru Tranquill or Kyzir White, some times players just want to test FA or they dont fit the next coaching staff
Some of them were bit part players aswell
The simple is & it cant be denied that Telesco drafts well

But Gruden was never our official GM. Mike Mayock was. I'm talking about someone being named Raiders General Manager when they'd already held that position elsewhere in the league.Oaktown Superman wrote Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:22 pm:Nope, Gruden, as he was Tampa’s GM, too, iirc.
