Since there are mixed opinions on this subject I thought a poll would be interesting to see which way the board leaned.RaiderFan1 » Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:29 pm
Trade up to 3rd overall pick….JP808 » Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:38 pm
Respectfully, the 3rd pick is only worth it for Daniels. No to Caleb Williams and no to Drake Maye. Caleb doesn’t have the mental toughness to be a Raider and Maye is inconsistent. Daniels has improved year after year and feels more mature than the other QBs. He will run through a wall for AP. If JD isn’t there, roll the dice with Nix or Pennix at 13 or 2nd round.Fade2SilverAndBlack » Thu Jan 25, 2024 8:48 am
Trade up....raider_kin » Thu Jan 25, 2024 8:58 am
Have to have two to tango. I don't think the teams at the top are going to listen to our pleas about the "draft value chart." It will take 3 firsts (two really since we are swapping firsts) and a second, and maybe a third down the road.Peeps on here just obsessed with hairball at the chargers. They are 45 mil over the cap. See you in '25.Fade2SilverAndBlack wrote Thu Jan 25, 2024 8:48 am:Trade up....

The only hope we have for a trade up is if one of the top teams satisfy their need at QB through free agency.Amish Cabal » Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:11 am
I agree. And the 3rd pick is the Pats, who are likely taking a QB, so it would probably take a boat load more to trade up than it's worth. I voted stand pat.JP808 wrote Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:38 pm:Respectfully, the 3rd pick is only worth it for Daniels. No to Caleb Williams and no to Drake Maye. Other than that BPA all the way.

If we aren't looking into a trade up to a top 3 spot then Telesco and co. are not doing their jobs. But it's impossible to say whether a trade should be made without knowing what it would cost. I would absolutely give "chart value" to trade up. But nobody in the top 3 is going to accept that. If they say Maxx Crosby plus your next three firsts and 2nds, what do you do? If a team loves the QB options available to them then the cost could be stupid.Dark Horse » Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:21 am
I disagree, Daniels is my choice as well but the other two are elite talents on their own rights.JP808 wrote Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:38 pm:Respectfully, the 3rd pick is only worth it for Daniels. A future 1st has 2nd round value in a tradeRaiderFan1 wrote Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:29 pm:Trade up to 3rd overall pick….
What about the trade value chart?
The 3rd overall pick in the draft is worth 2200 points.
Our 13th overall pic is worth 1150 points
Leaving an additional 1050 points needed to trade up from 13th to 3rd .
They get our 13th overall pick plus another 1st round pick worth 1150 points which would be exactly another 15th overall 1st round pick , or our 13th overall pick plus an additional two top ten 2nd round picks ..
Here’s the trade value chart

I agree they have the physical talents. Respectfully, elite QBs have the intangibles. Williams is fast and can throw a mile, but I question his heart and leadership. Drake is big and can make any throw but just seems a bit inconsistent. Daniels is intriguing because he was able to improve each year. This shows that he has the desire to be great and will do what it takes to be great. If physical traits are all equal, then you rank them with intangibles. If you are betting the farm on a prospect you make sure you get the guy that will work to be great.Dark Horse wrote Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:21 am:I disagree, Daniels is my choice as well but the other two are elite talents on their own rights.

I prefer Daniels as well but I would gladly take the other 2. I think any trade has to directly or indirectly involve Adams. I think a sweet spot for us would be trading with the Cards. Give them our 1st, 2nd, and Adams (maybe even a little more) for their 1st. From the 4 we would have some options to include seeing if someone takes Harrison ahead of us (and we get are QB), would make it easier to move up to get our QB, or we just take Harrison (I really do not want this but it is a worse case scenario).
