As for Pierce's comments about Mahomes, I realize saying stuff like that is out of date, but can we get past the words alone get you branded and let the guy do his job and if we are overly rough on Mahomes, then take action. He was just talking. We already put red jerseys on QBs, let's not put full on dresses on them.

As for the recap article... Gregg Williams and Sean Peyton landed in hot water not because of something they said, but because they ran an illegal program that placed bounties on opposing players! Great "journalism". The program was that if a targeted player was knocked out of a game, a bonus would be paid out to the defensive player that made the hit. A slush fund for paying the bounties was found to have operated from the 2009 season to the 2011–12 playoffs.

That said, I don't really give two shits what some media hacks have to say.
What matters and the thing that only matters takes place within the walls of the Raider facility and what happens between the lines on the field as a result. The rest is all noise, 'sound and fury' signifying nothing.
Doesn't seem to be too much going on up there, too many mid field collisions I guess. If you haven't noticed, the Raiders don't do very well with targets on their backs, esp with the refs smh.
Here's what you do: hit that motherfucker. Hard.
NFL rules do a lot to protect the quarterback. So okay: you can let Mahomes play his fucking game and get lit up for a long play or TD----------------or you can risk getting a 15 yard penalty. I believe in the latter approach. No need for purposeful head shots or hits at the knees; nothing cheap like that is needed. But if it's a borderline thing where you don't know if he's staying in bounds or going out, then hit that fucker like he's running back in the middle of the field. If he's past the line of scrimmage and pump fakes, hit him in the gut like a Mack truck running into a wall of pudding.
Let him lobby the refs for a penalty while he's on the ground writhing in pain.
Even worse? We were the least penalized team in the league.

They could have been doing it anyways and not getting penalized if he didnt just blurt stuff out. What he said isn't wrong. This is professional football, players get hit. He's fair game as a drop back passer and runner. The NFL could surely get ticky tack & straight up fuck the Raiders over, for sure. However to say what he said is the gameplan on paper for many teams.
