There is a reason why some stats (QB pressures, QB hits and Sacks) are celebrated more than others. What AP said, every team in the league knows and plans their best to accomplish every freaken Sunday.
And to those that state AP needs to stay quiet as if he is giving up information....what fucking information???? He simply said aloud what everyone already knows and tries to do every damn Sunday. He might be too satisfied with the fact that the Raiders were able to do it in one game. But damn, the Raiders don't have a lot to hang their hats on this offseason.
And yes, it is hyperbole to state he found the recipe, but I think he is merely welcoming the rest of the league to get after Kermit...not that they are not already trying to hit that slippery little fuck.
QB pressures, hits and sacks are considered highly when evaluating any defensive lineman - even considered more highly than tackles for a loss...which frankly I think are nearly as important.
This whole thing is much ado about nothing. Not even going to offer my comments regarding worrying about what Andy will come up with. Grow a pair. Andy loves beating the Raiders and will always do his best to do so.....so don't think AP's comments moved the needle.
If you actually read the exact quote, it is a really tame thing he said. Unfortunately, he was right. He said other thing of course, he coached against us for decades, and I am sure someone can dig up something far more biting that he said. But it was a different era. The internet has fueled a lot more angst and butt hurt that Marty did not have to deal with.
But the last time we taunted that team, the next game they reminded us that they can kick our asses at will and they pulled that ring around the rosy play to further that point (I think it was the next game)

Stop. Patrick Mahomes is able to "run around like that" bc he is on his way to becoming the greatest QB to ever play. The best QBs don't take unnecessary hits, and it's not bc teams don't want to light them up. For years Marty Schotteinheimer was practicing the "Raider week " routine & everybody said, "Keep the games close & the Raiders will commit dumb penalties to lose the game". All this until Gannon & Gruden beat the Chiefs and knocked them out of playoffs.
