Is it just me, or have all the hirings felt kind of herky jerky and secretive this season?Raider Nation » Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:04 am
I know this isn’t going to be a popular statement, Hue Jackson was a master at designing his offense around the player strengths!JP808 wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:12 am:To be honest I’m tired of coaches trying to implement “their” system. Judging from APs interviews he did the opposite to improve the defense. He and Patrick basically allowed each players’ strengths to shine by designing the defense to what they do best.
Hopefully Kingsbury is the type of coach that will look at the ingredients in cupboard and make something amazing. There are some fantastic pieces at the skill positions. I’d like to see the Air Raider (yes I’m coining this) offense tailored to the personnel they have. Kingsbury seems like a smart enough dude to let his players do what they do best. Mahomes praised him for this very thing. If the philosophy going forward is BPA, then you make sure you modify you scheme based on your talent.

I've always found the Raiders to be very hush hush about all of their transactions, both coaching staff and player. In fact, I think recently( the last 2-3 years) they have been more open about their dealings.GUYDON wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:24 am:Is it just me, or have all the hirings felt kind of herky jerky and secretive this season?
In the past it seem like the team was very open, almost bragging about who they were interviewing and hiring.
This year its like we are getting much less info and even when they do hire people its almost like you arent even sure they have been hired.
Anyone else feel like it has been a strange hiring cycle (compared to what we are used to as Raider fans)?

I’m starting to look at Jordan Travis as a kid that could possibly run it was more than likely a Day 2 pick before the injuryWolfRaider wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:09 am:Russell Wilson can’t run it at all. Mayfield wants 40m and has a bad relationship with Kingsbury

5th round or later flyer would be fine. Before then I would have to pass.CWood24 wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:41 am:I’m starting to look at Jordan Travis as a kid that could possibly run it was more than likely a Day 2 pick before the injury
Has a good football IQ, good arm (not elite) with good touch, can play off script & is highly mobile
Worries are he can be inaccurate, can be prone to silly turnovers & how does he recover from injury
His weaknesses can be fixed with some tweaking of his lower half mechanics

WTF?Travis is simply not built for the NFL. Run dependant, small, laundry list of injuries and reckless.haji81872 wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:46 am:5th round or later flyer would be fine. Before then I would have to pass.

So now there's a report Kingsbury won't be the new OC?riseNraid09 » Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:58 am
Kliff has withdrawn his name from consideration for the OC job.WolfRaider » Sat Feb 03, 2024 10:01 am
I really like Travis. Reminds me of Purdy!! I think he’s more of a risk to be a starter so I would only get him if we get a vet or feel great about AOC.CWood24 wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:41 am:I’m starting to look at Jordan Travis as a kid that could possibly run it was more than likely a Day 2 pick before the injury

My guess, Washington have offered him a bag of money and they have a top 2 pick.riseNraid09 wrote Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:58 am:Kliff has withdrawn his name from consideration for the OC job.
