The Raiders were going to make the playoffs until they lost too many gameshaji81872 » Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:06 am
I guarantee they don't.HesterLayes wrote Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:00 pm:I guarantee they make the playoffs next year.

Harbaugh is going to fix their cap issues? He is a capologist as well?RI RAIDER wrote Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:00 am:Remind me about them making a HUGE splash with their HC. I think you are underestimating what Jim is going to do for that team. They went from consistently having one of the worst coaching staffs in the league (a fucking laughingstock) to getting Jim. They have some serious talent. Once Jim fixes their cap issues, the sky is the limit from them. Hebert is going to feast with a real QB whisperer.

No, but he's a winner.haji81872 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:09 am:Harbaugh is going to fix their cap issues? He is a capologist as well?

He has already stated he wants to fix the cap issues. He is the ultimate power broker for their team (at 16 million per year). He is a good fit for them and it unfortunately gives them a solid nucleus in their coaching staff (something Hebert has NEVER had as they have been a constant shit show). Lets not sleep on that fact that Roman has always done a very good job with his QB's as well. That being said, I did not want him here as I thought he was a bad fit for the makeup of our team. I think we finally have a solid chain of command. No high salaried ego maniac coach and no friendship at the top. However, I recognize that we have the best coaches in our division and its something that we are going to have to deal with.haji81872 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:09 am:Harbaugh is going to fix their cap issues? And? Belichek only won bc of Brady. And we should hope Payton doesn't trade up to grab one of these QBs. Bc he was stuck with trash at QB. Just sayingJeevo wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:36 am:So are Belichik and Payton.

Of course he wants to. It is not even a want to thing, he has to. I don't think that he will be the one crunching the numbers and writing out the contracts to do that work though.RI RAIDER wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:56 am:He has already stated he wants to fix the cap issues. Good for him, how does that help him figure out how to fix their cap issues. You honestly think because he is a winner is enough reason to think he also has this whole cap thing figured out?BoKnows81 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:11 am:No, but he's a winner.

Ultimately the Chargers need to move on from several expensive underperforming and/or oft-injured players to get to a cap baseline that works. The way Harbaugh helps the cap is by helping choose the right guys to move on from and the right guys to add to replace the departed guys. The best way to manage your cap is to choose good football players. The cap gymnastics and contract creativity is overrated. If Chandler Jones had worked out on the field for us as just a decent edge rusher opposite Maxx then his bloated contract wouldn't have mattered.haji81872 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:25 am:Of course he wants to. Short answer, yes I do. That's part of winninghaji81872 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 11:29 am:Good for him, how does that help him figure out how to fix their cap issues. You honestly think because he is a winner is enough reason to think he also has this whole cap thing figured out?
He is going to have someone tell him what the options are and what has to be done to get out of their cap situation. It is ridiculous to think he will spearhead the negotiations and contract talks. He is going to say, here are the guys I want, now figure out how we can afford them.

That is a dumb guarantee. I know how you feel, but there are no guarantees in anything. I think you know that.haji81872 wrote Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:06 am:I guarantee they don't.
