We need a dude at QB.Rdrfn64 » Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:17 pm
You can't be serious! Way too much to gamble. Odds are you end up with a possible franchise QB and a probable team around him that's lacking. Take those picks and make the roster the difference. It's easier than hoping 1 player can.Oaktown Superman wrote Sun Feb 11, 2024 11:37 am:I’d do that trade in a heartbeat. But I think it take lots more than that to get to # 3. And that’s if Daniels gets to NE. I wouldn’t rule out Washington drafting him. Shoot, i wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he goes # 1 overall.

2025 1st, 2nd
2026 1st
I think that’s the minimum it’ll take to get to # 3.

I would only do it if there was a generational talent QB in the draft.crowbar wrote Mon Feb 12, 2024 2:38 pm:You don't sacrifice the future draft for a QB when you are the Raiders.
You do it,when you are a QB away from the playoffs or Superbowl.

You’ve made a huge mistake here as you’ve confused Daniels with a running QB when in fact he is more of pocket passer with explosive ability to take offWolfRaider wrote Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:00 pm:We need a dude at QB.
But also, we’re not going to get a better QB than PM. Let’s be realistic. We need a guy that can compete with him and then have a roaster that is better than them. Giving away too much draft capital is the worse thing we can do.
I think people believe Jayden Daniels is a sure thing elite QB. He’s not, he’s for the potential to be a Lamar Jackson but he could also be a smaller Fields who’s constantly hurt because he doesn’t look after his body when running with the ball.
I’m against trading up into the top 3. But above the other 3 QB needy teams ahead of us, sure!

So that's 2 firsts and 2 seconds and we swap places this draft. Unless the gap is very wide on your board from one quarterback to another, no deal.Oaktown Superman wrote Sun Feb 11, 2024 11:37 am:I’d do that trade in a heartbeat. With the way our defense played towards the end of the year, what else would we have needed other than an elite QB to win?rich72 wrote Sat Feb 10, 2024 9:43 pm:We are more than just a QB away.

Correct…(not saying you will agree with the below though)WolfRaider wrote Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:00 pm:We need a dude at QB.

3 firsts is almost unprecedented. Aren't the 49ers the only team in history to trade 3 firsts for a draft pick? (not a player trade)BoKnows81 » Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:25 am
I'm starting to get hesitant on giving up the farm specifically for Jayden Daniels. I'd do it for Maye or Caleb, in that order, but I think I'd rather wait for or trade up a couple spots for JJ McCarthy than give up the farm for Daniels.Sir Raider Duck, OMS » Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:28 am
You only trade the farm if everyone is 100% on him. If even one person isn't 100% sold on Daniels, you wait and either trade for him later when he's dropped a bit, or just move onto the next available guy.BoKnows81 wrote Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:25 am:I'm starting to get hesitant on giving up the farm specifically for Jayden Daniels. I agree but I have a feeling AP wants him. So we'll see who wins out I guess.Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:28 am:You only trade the farm if everyone is 100% on him. Washington traded 3 firsts and more to move up to 2 (from 6) for RGIII. RGIII certainly didn't end up as a big draft win but IMO that was injury - he was very good from the start.BotesBoats wrote Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:19 am:3 firsts is almost unprecedented. 2 firsts and 2 seconds is the most I'd want this team to give up. (other than late round fodder or mid round swaps included) And only for one of the top 3 QB's.

Rightly or wrongly, the acquisition of our new QB is going to be a big test for everyone, Telesco and AP especially. But I have confidence in them.BoKnows81 wrote Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:29 am:I agree but I have a feeling AP wants him. So we'll see who wins out I guess.
