The funniest part is calling each other delusional for a difference of opinion on Adams trade compensation given a couple of the posters we have here.MexicanHulk wrote Sat Mar 23, 2024 10:47 am:Impressive. Usually your kind don’t see their errors
P.S.
I also don’t think a 1st+ is even close to in the cards for him. Just not a 4th either.

To be honest, top flight WRs tend to garner higher picks than top flight Cs on the market, given the rules favor WRs over CsDanKD wrote Sat Mar 23, 2024 5:15 pm:The funniest part is calling each other delusional for a difference of opinion on Adams trade compensation given a couple of the posters we have here.

I dont disagree in general but Adams is over 30 now and basically a one year rental.Attyla wrote Sat Mar 23, 2024 5:35 pm:To be honest, top flight WRs tend to garner higher picks than top flight Cs on the market, given the rules favor WRs over Cs

Yes, he is right now basically a one year rental unless things change. Given that, I think it would be a good move for the Raiders to go WR somewhere in this draft if and when one falls into their lap that they like. This draft appears to be deep at the position and who knows you might find a keeper somewhere in there from the third to the fifth round. Or even after that, I guess.DanKD wrote Sat Mar 23, 2024 5:36 pm:I dont disagree in general but Adams is over 30 now and basically a one year rental.

The only team that would be dumb enough to part with a 1st rounder (but still unlikely) are the NYJ, and that’s still a guess. Because they don’t have a 2nd this year , it’s probably not going to happen. Draft another WR in the first 3 rounds, and get everything we can get from Adams on the field this year and then move on as it looks like the lug nuts have already been loosened.BluegrassRaider » Sun Mar 24, 2024 1:30 pm
I'll take that 3rd and a future 1st, which with the addition of Adams with a healthy Rodgers should almost be valued like a current 3rd because they are going all the way, right?BoJacksonRules wrote Sun Mar 24, 2024 12:03 pm:The only team that would be dumb enough to part with a 1st rounder (but still unlikely) are the NYJ, and that’s still a guess. That, and he would surely be a helpful target for a young and up and coming QB...chucker wrote Sat Mar 23, 2024 10:28 am:That's very cheap for a WR of his caliber. Darnell Mooney just got $13 million a year coming off a 400 yard season. Adams is a guy that can help a team with a good QB in win-now mode. I'd say a 2nd or, at worst, a 3rd.

Also I would think for a team like the Jets he would be worth a #1. This is Rodgers final chance at the SB prize and to have #17 in that offense would make them very formidable. Think about it, they had neither Rodgers or Adams last year playing for them and finished with a 7-10 record. Can you imagine how many times that defense was left out to dry?RI RAIDER » Sun Mar 24, 2024 11:25 pm
Unless we can trade him to ourselves.BoJacksonRules wrote Sun Mar 24, 2024 12:03 pm:The only team that would be dumb enough to part with a 1st rounder (but still unlikely) are the NYJ, and that’s still a guess. I don't think there's a chance that the Jets would give their #1 for Adams. But I think they'd be interested in trading for him, and I think the Texans and Ravens would be as well. Teams looking to boost a proven QB who are in a winning window. I actually think the Jets' window is tenuous, but they put themselves in a situation where they have to work like it's a window because of short term presence of Rodgers.16 to 88 wrote Sun Mar 24, 2024 8:12 pm:Also I would think for a team like the Jets he would be worth a #1. Robert Saleh coached jets
2021... 4-13
2022... 7-10
2023... 7-10
Most coaches are already shown the door after 3 consecutive seasons like that. If I am Saleh I am banging the table for Devante Adams.
It's a major long shot that anybody you draft in this draft be it the first round or the 7th is going to give you the production that Devante will. Additionally, seeing Adams is getting up there in age does he want to reunite with his ol' pal Rodgers for a shot at a SB ring? The plot thickens?

It might seem like I don't like Adams because I talk about trading him. I think he's among the best in the game, but we have a guy with a very similar style in Meyers who's younger and under contract for longer. I think Adams' contract window and skillset are poor fits for the Raiders right now. He'd need to be replaced, but I'd replace him with a different style of player and take advantage of the trade compensation to hopefully draft a guard.16 to 88 » Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:34 pm
It seems to me the issue with that would be they don't have a player on the team that they could swap that would be a fair swap talent wise. Adams, besides Rodgers, would be the best player on there entire team. And if somebody wants to make the case that they could trade someone like QW, well, of course they aren't going to do that.chucker wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 6:19 am:I don't think there's a chance that the Jets would give their #1 for Adams. I love the idea of player for player trades but I also accept the reality that they are more fan fiction than reality. If we trade Adams it's likely for a pick or combination of picks. I don't think there's a chance of a first from anyone unless it's say the Jets giving us their 1 and us sending them ours and Adams in return and that's not a real return of a first.16 to 88 wrote Mon Mar 25, 2024 3:34 pm:It seems to me the issue with that would be they don't have a player on the team that they could swap that would be a fair swap talent wise. What I'm driving at is they probably don't want to give up a player(s) in a swap because they are going to want all hands on deck to compete for a one time shot with Rodgers for a SB. Trading away a pick(s) in this draft or in the future they could add a fantastic player like Adams and keep what they have. And of course, even if they don't aquire Adams and take a swing at a #1, there is always the chance they miss completely and/or he doesn't contribute significantly the chances are those house of cards are going to fall all over Saleh.
