Good question. Now, the running long jump might be a good test -- or combined with a hurdle (as when a runner hurdles a would-be tackler).RickRyb wrote Sun Mar 03, 2024 9:23 am:Quick combine question - What's the purpose of the long jump?

The standing broad jump is intended to be a measure for explosiveness. I'm not sure if there's any position where there's a correlation between broad jump and NFL success though.RickRyb wrote Sun Mar 03, 2024 9:23 am:Quick combine question - What's the purpose of the long jump?

But holy crap Joe Milton has a howitzer for an arm. My goodness. Threw that one pass from the fifteen and hit the WR in stride at the other 15. Wow!

Top Draft Safety Sees Raiders as Great Fitrich72 » Mon Mar 04, 2024 1:59 pm
They better be trading way down if they pick him in the 1st round.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote Mon Mar 04, 2024 1:56 pm:Top Draft Safety Sees Raiders as Great Fit
Former Minnesota safety Tyler Nubin thinks he would fit right in with the Las Vegas Raiders.

They should make a 7' pile with an of sandbags with 2' "arms" on top of that and have players run at it and jump over the sandbags and through the arms and call it the Marcus Allen over the top test.RickRyb wrote Sun Mar 03, 2024 9:23 am:Quick combine question - What's the purpose of the long jump?

Currently vied as a mid 2nd rounder. If all stays the same they may be able to trade down in the 2nd and still get him.rich72 wrote Mon Mar 04, 2024 1:59 pm: They better be trading way down if they pick him in the 1st round.

He’s one of my favourite WRs in the class, be interesting to see if we pick him up in day 2

They shouldn’t be taking him in the first period. Nor in the second because, there’s better or at least equal rated prospects at more valuable positions of need.rich72 wrote Mon Mar 04, 2024 1:59 pm: They better be trading way down if they pick him in the 1st round.

Seattle just released 2 of their safeties, maybe we should just sign a vet safety so we dont waste draft capital.MexicanHulk wrote Tue Mar 05, 2024 2:54 pm:They shouldn’t be taking him in the first period. The safety position in this draft is lacking. There’s only one who I think could be a blue chip type & that’s, Cooper Dejean. I see Dejean as more of a safety than CB &, a damn good looking one if he makes the switch. Only reason I’d suggest the switch is, his change of direction speed looks to be slow. For a CB that is. He’s smooth & has great technique. That’s not the issue I see. It’s the acceleration. So a quick shifty WR could be a big issue. Flowers, Lockett, B.Cooks, St. Brown, Hill, Kupp, types. But his zone coverage & IQ seems off the charts. He could be an elite safety.

With all the FA and cap casualty safeties in the league this year, we must be one of the few teams with both our starting safeties under contract. Plus we have 2 backups under contract. For us to draft or sign a safety, he'd have to be a ridiculous value.Attyla » Tue Mar 05, 2024 3:25 pm
Penix did the most to improve his position among QBs but I still see mocks with him in the 2nd. I suspect when FA is over and the individual workouts are done he will move into the mid first round
