One guy (and his son) got fired from the Raiders. Sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me.Sold My Soul wrote Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:31 pm:Curious after reading this on going beef from Lombardi....
Michael Lombardi Criticizes Antonio Pierce For Not Understanding The “Raider Way”, Says “It’s A Joke”
“This guy is driving me crazy,” Lombardi let loose on The GM Shuffle podcast. “Can he just shut up? Why won’t somebody in the Raiders tell him to shut up?”

The fact that someone is talking about our coach in this fashion tells me we're heading back to the Raider Way.Attyla » Thu Feb 29, 2024 3:18 am
The "Raider Way" is actually not a thing, not in the sense the younger fans would think. It was not something that was taught or a reflection of a single system, attitude or intent. It really was just a culture that allowed men to be themselves. The rules other teams imposed ceased to exist under Madden. We had no dress codes, very loose curfews and such. The freedoms allowed the guys to express themselves in ways other teams could not. Case in point, Hendricks was a natural cut up. That made him feel most comfortable. Madden's lack of rules allowed him the freedom of expression and they had fun playing a game. When you are not concerned about breaking a rule, your focus changes. That changed once Flores was let go. The business of football began to overshadow the game of football. It ceased to be fun and the money really started to explode. If anything has ruined sport in general but football in particular, it is the money. Now that is all guys worry about. And I cannot blame them. The money is a driving force. No longer are you seeing guys sell out their bodies like they did, they do not want to risk the money maker. Maxx may be the single exception to that.Spirit in Black » Thu Feb 29, 2024 4:43 am

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootba ... bombshells“Mike Lombardi has been fired from every job he’s had,” [Al] Davis said. “Every job. He can’t get a job. Last year he was fired from a job he was working for nothing. He was fired from Denver.” Davis also confirmed that Lombardi was the in-house mole who was bad-mouthing former coach Art Shell, which prompted Shell’s head to nearly explode at a press conference two years ago. "[H]e was bad to Shell,” Davis said of Lombardi. “Not necessary. You can’t get that in an organization, somebody in the organization bad-mouthing the coach.”

The Raider Way was in the mind of Al Davis.heavyD » Thu Feb 29, 2024 6:18 am
Sour grapes for sure but AP’s brashness is pretty unconventional for an NFL head coach. I just wonder how this approach will resonate if the team struggles. The only name that comes to mind for a comparable is Mike Singletary and when things started going south for him it really snowballed. That said players are different now so maybe this approach can work. Time will tell.signal » Thu Feb 29, 2024 6:19 am
I have not been in high school for several decades now, but damn did Lombardi's tweet remind me of the sort of thing that went on from time to time whenever anyone was acting like a child after a break up or something.chucker » Thu Feb 29, 2024 6:40 am
Dan Campbell is the most recent example of a brash coach saying what's on his mind and media latching onto it. His team struggled and had an awful first season, but never stopped being a team. He was on the hotseat when they struggled for the first half of the second season but never lost the locker room. They rolled pretty good after that.heavyD wrote Thu Feb 29, 2024 6:18 am:Sour grapes for sure but AP’s brashness is pretty unconventional for an NFL head coach.
