I think most people understood and appreciated your Mahomes "generational talent" reference. I think everyone should appreciate the fact that the Bears traded up to get Trubisky and John Ross was drafted ahead of Mahomes and Watson. It wasn't just Mahomes who was great from that draft, Watson was also great before he had some injuries and self-control issues that derailed him.GoodTimeCharlie wrote Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:11 pm:I was being cheeky. Williams has the better chance of winning a SB, cause Luck had too much stuff between his ears that caused him to value the stuff between his ears and retire.
I’m more remarking that we don’t know. Despite whatever labels, how they looked or didn’t look in college doesn’t end up amounting to much it seems. Especially, in Luck’s case, if the team that drafts you never thinks to draft to protect you from collecting concussions every other game.
I don’t have a horse in this race, I just hope the Raiders end up with the best one if we draft one. I probably liked watching Daniels the most this last year, but RG3 vibes with that frame. Mayes, I can’t tell. Dude lacked star talent to work with. Williams the same to a lesser degree. Though he does a fair imitation of Mahomes. That gambit worked out for Kobe. McCarthy, Zack Wilson? Nix, robot. Penix, f’n beautiful long ball. Short to mid…oof. A brittle Randall Cunningham?
Who fucking knows? No one.
