IMO, Renfro got a bad rap that was not of his doing...in 2021 he was targeted 128 times and had 103 receptions. But then in 2022, enter Josh f'n McDaniels who simply did not utilize him nearly as much because Renfro was only targeted 50 times with 36 receptions. This past year he was only targeted 37 times with 25 receptions. Renfro is known as one of the best route runners around, and will bounce back wherever he goes.AndrewDean » Fri Mar 15, 2024 1:41 pm
I hope this kid is sitting back, looking at a ton of offers.Sir Raider Duck, OMS » Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:16 pm
He may get a few offers, but not a "ton." He has less than 600 yards combined over the last two seasons, and never even had 50 yards in a game in 2023.AndrewDean wrote Fri Mar 15, 2024 1:41 pm:I hope this kid is sitting back, looking at a ton of offers.

Those numbers are not surprising seeing his targets over the last two season. Renfrow didn't underachieve. He was under utilized.Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:16 pm:He may get a few offers, but not a "ton." Or maybe he just wasn't getting open. He was never a fast guy to begin with, and the loss of even half a step would be devastating.RickRyb wrote Fri Mar 15, 2024 3:47 pm:Those numbers are not surprising seeing his targets over the last two season. Renfrow didn't underachieve. He was under utilized.

Nothing good, (player wise) came out of the McDaniels regime. Renfrow was one of the most effective receivers in the game prior to McDaniels coming on board. Waller was one of the most effective tight ends as well. The only thing good things to come out of that regime, was having AP and PG on the coaching staff and that Mark Davis saw how big of a mistake Ziegler and McDaniels were and plugged them quickly.Xramfan » Fri Mar 15, 2024 5:06 pm

Yeah, but they shouldn't have extended him first. It's like they never saw him play and were just like, hey lets trade 2 top picks to get him a big time receiver that he can consistently miss.Xramfan wrote Fri Mar 15, 2024 5:06 pm:I give them credit for one other thing they did

It may have been mcshits system, but the GOAT would regularly blow off mishits play calls and improv with his receivers. Everybody in the NFL world found out the emperors had no clothes in New England when the GOAT bolted.RickRyb wrote Fri Mar 15, 2024 9:47 am:For me, I expected more from Renfrow when McDaniels was hired because of what "his" offenses had done with Welker and Edelman. It seemed like McDaniel abandoned the slot receiver.

AP and this regime got rid of him. I get that it was for salary purposes but they could've restructured or bring him back at a cheaper price. They didn't so they must not think as much of him as most of this board does. It wasn't all Josh IMOSold My Soul wrote Sat Mar 16, 2024 5:44 am:https://www.raidersbeat.com/raiders-rad ... s-to-come/

NFL is littered with a lot of bad coaches. One teams trash is another teams treasure. It's always interesting to follow the career paths of the Raiders drafted players once they no longer wear our colors.Hellbound wrote Sat Mar 16, 2024 6:17 am:AP and this regime got rid of him. I think once Meyers was signed it made it tough to even get Renfrow on the field, because he's a pure slot guy and both Meyers and Adams are guys who are better if they can move from outside to slot depending on matchup and situation. So I think it was the prior regime that marginalized him by signing another guy to take slot snaps away from Renfrow. I still think Renfrow can help a team a lot in the right situation, but he's not for every team or every QB.Hellbound wrote Sat Mar 16, 2024 6:17 am:AP and this regime got rid of him. I'd be willing to bet many of those dumping on Renfrow not that he's gone were the same ones yelling Third and Renfrow every time he got a tough first down. ... all depends on which way the wind is blowing.
