So to run with this Mayer is arguably better than Bowers but Bowers is the truth & Bowers will never be a pro bowler even though he looks on course to be a pro bowler
Also Mayer has more potential than Bowers but as he is a player that doesn't want to play apparently he will never be good
I’m man enough to admit that i could be wrong & that Bowers might actually be the generational talent that people said he was albeit my take was that the phrase “generational talent” is thrown around a little to much
I would argue that with Bowers in the line up that we don’t need a true No.1 WR (which Bowers kind of is )& that Meyers & Tucker as 1 & 2 with Bowers & Mayer we’re almost set with offensive weapons although RB is a issue for me

Bowers is a wide receiver that plays Tight End.
When Mayer was called upon last year as a pass catcher, he delivered. The problem was that he was rarely called upon. It didn't help that Adams is bitching about getting the ball and being a general cancer while filming for Netflix.
Bowers is being schemed open and is getting plays called specifically for him. That's a good thing, and I'm happy for him. It's a shame that Mayer didn't get the same courtesy from the previous regime.
And considering the situation with Mayer leaving the team in response to his demotion, I was mostly right.

Mayer can’t do what Bowers does, Bowers can do what Mayers does. Mayer is good but Bowers is just on another level

Mayer is a pure tight end that can excel at both, if given the opportunity. Bowers is a #1 WR, which is good, but he's not a TE.
Remember the parable of playing Chess with a pigeon: He'll knock over the pieces, crap on the board, then strut around like he's won.
Higher upside, for the win
His blocking probably isn’t on the level of MM but he’s getting better. Blocking is a necessity as a TE but it isn’t the sole requirement. Most are asked to chip block or assist a tackle on elite edge players.
One of our best players. Could make a strong case of being our best.
Can anyone define "generation"?
Is Michael Silver's definition the same as Tashan Reed's? Or the same as Vic Tafur? Or the same as Atilla's? Or the same as Mark Davis? Or the same as Tom Brady?

I agreed with what Pete Prisco stated. At that point in time (the draft) there was nothing about Brock that made him a great pick considering we had just drafted Mayer the year prior. As a pure pick, he wasn't better than Mayer.CWood24 wrote Wed Dec 04, 2024 1:10 pm:
