Yes, the draft fell about as good as it could for the Raiders in the first two rounds.BoKnows81 wrote Wed Jun 12, 2024 8:37 am:We got the best available in the 1st round. Not sure what you're talking about.

Latham scares me. I would of been ok with Fuaga but Bowers was unquestionably the best player available. Not to mention, we may not have taken JPJ in the 2nd if we took Latham in the 1st. I'll go as far as saying while I respect your opinion, I think the majority would of considered taking Latham in the 1st a disaster, including myself. Dude is massive but has serious athleticism concerns and is probably better suited for the inside.signal wrote Wed Jun 12, 2024 8:41 am:Yes, the draft fell about as good as it could for the Raiders in the first two rounds.
That said, if the Titans had taken Bowers and JC Latham dropped to the Raiders...that would have been a good haul as well. Not as good, but damn, still a good haul.
P.S. I actually went into the draft hoping the Raiders would snag Latham....never dreaming that Bowers would ever be available.

I was leery of Latham as well and thought JPJ was the most dominant OL in the draft. To get Bowers (who I thought would NEVER get past the Jets) and then come back with JPJ is incredible.BoKnows81 wrote Wed Jun 12, 2024 8:49 am:Latham scares me. Would you feel better if I change it from often to sometimes?CWood24 wrote Wed Jun 12, 2024 6:41 am:This makes laugh cause the same ones talking about PFF & saying it doesn't matter are the same ones who use it when it fits there narrative
People need to stop being so dismiss of data
Our OL played really well at times last year & there was a lot to like about some of the play but on the other hand there are things that need fixed.
Our OL wasn't as bad as some posters says but that’s more about them creating a false narrative but neither it wasn't top tier with but with the addition we’ve made it has a chance to take a step

I'm of the belief that JPJ doesn't start right off. I take the Oline offseason signings as a reason. We now have vets to cover the position while he gets up to speed. Probably wrong on this but it's just a premonition on my part.KillerRaider30 » Sat Jun 15, 2024 10:10 am

I had the bike, the rocket bike, hell I would have had him with the kung fu grip if they had made it. I had the regular suit, the suit with the cape, and multiple helmets. When his license was featured on Pawn Stars I almost made a trip to Vegas to get it.KillerRaider30 wrote Sat Jun 15, 2024 10:10 am:Like winding up my Evel Knievel motorcycle toy to full rpm and clicking the release button.
But it always crashed immediately lol
Anybody remember

I don't think the kid has quite the nastiness of Incognito, but I think he will be that type of player. I love that he was a wrestler in school, he will know how to use leverage. Can't wait to watch him play.RunOverByHubbard » Sat Jun 15, 2024 11:08 pm
Hmmm. Have not thought that way, but you know, it makes some sense. Sure he was excellent at Oregon, but the NFL is a lot tougher. We have a couple of veterans who can plug and play so they might want JPJ to get limited action the first few games so he gets his bearings.raiderboyron wrote Sat Jun 15, 2024 9:49 am:I'm of the belief that JPJ doesn't start right off. Neither of the first two picks look like they will need time to adjust to the NFL game. In fact, of the two, JPJ looks more ready to plug in and be impactful right away. I don't see any reason why he would be brought along slowly unless he is just slow mentally, which from all indications, he is not.RunOverByHubbard wrote Sat Jun 15, 2024 11:08 pm:Hmmm. Yes, I think both JPJ and Bowers are starters from day one.miles_j20 wrote Sat Jun 15, 2024 11:33 pm:Neither of the first two picks look like they will need time to adjust to the NFL game. This is the biggest question mark going into the season. It's not O'Connell or Minshew because we already know what we have in those two guys. Maybe O'Connell will take the next step and improve his game or maybe he will lose it to a journey man QB, either way this offense has enough skill players with talent for Getsy to put something together that should carry the team if the defense plays as well as last year. However, history when it comes to Raider's offensive coordinators that struggled elsewhere before joining the Raiders, tells me that Getsy is going to frustrate us all year with his play calling and offense.signal wrote Sun Jun 16, 2024 6:04 am:The only questions I think we need to ask ourselves are: will Getsy design a playbook that will fully tap his potential and will the QB (whomever that may be) play at a level that will allow Bowers to thrive.
