Didn't we learn anything from what transpired last season. The chain of command whatever it is continues to be the same. Last year, when the decision was made in favor of AOC - he had good pre-season but a bad regular season game. This year they know what they have in AOC plus during the training camps they will know who fits Gatsy's offense better.Be_Easy_25 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 12:43 am:How do we know for sure?
He could be like half the board here and his “gut” could say he just thinks we need a mobile QB to compete in the 2024 NFL even if AOC outplays Minshew in camp (which he probably will).
Lettuce all kneel at the altar of mobility.
Would be stupid and unwise but we never know.
And whose call is it? His? Telesco’s? Mark’s? What exactly is the chain of command?

...agree, have no interest in, or to overpay for Zak....seems to gets smaller in the biggest moments.....heavyD wrote Wed May 01, 2024 8:31 am:Prescott has been surrounded by elite players on offense and defense most of his career and can’t get it done in the playoffs. Remember Cooper Rush was 6-1 starting in place of Dak which shows how strong their roster has been. Any team offering him $40+ million is setting themselves up for disappointment.

This is the Kool Aid I need. C'mon AO4.WNYRAIDER wrote Wed May 01, 2024 4:54 am:....this one was in my headlines this morning.....
“I’m glad the Raiders didn’t go all-out for a new franchise quarterback,” the scout said. “They already have one. Aidan O’Connell, with a little bit of development, can be a high level long-term franchise quarterback for Las Vegas.”
As for who O’Connell’s NFL comparison is?
“Honestly, I think he’ll start looking an awful lot like Kirk Cousins this season. From both a production and success standpoint,” the scout said. “The Raiders are going to be a playoff team with him leading the way.”

I'm ok with whoever wins the starting job honesty. Won't be disappointed either way. I'll enjoy watching Minshew and his unique energy he brings just as much as watching AOC to see him progressing and getting better.raiders93 » Wed May 01, 2024 9:29 am
I say this with caution as we’ve been pretty good at creating new all-time lows… but it can’t possibly get worse than Jimmy G last year, right?3rd and Long wrote Wed May 01, 2024 9:20 am:I'm ok with whoever wins the starting job honesty. I'll take that over my total disgust I had the previous years where it was nearly unwatchable for me with Carr and Garoppolo.

Yep. That's why I voted AO, but am good with Minshew too. Either way, we've got a good back-up.JTRaider wrote Wed May 01, 2024 9:10 am:This is the Kool Aid I need. C'mon AO4.

Minshew is no Lamar Jackson, but I like how he can move around and buy time. Good instincts. And his receivers are Pittman, Granson, (not Randy) Moss, Downs…. Like… WHO?KillerRaider30 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 9:58 am:Minshew 2023 highlights

Aiden with a lot of well placed throws. Reeeaaally looking forward to the season.

If he does take off more it will because the coaches are looking for him to . . . not the fans.KillerRaider30 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 3:17 pm:Me too.
I hope one of them can unlock this offense.
I want Aidan to be that guy but I think Minshew is better for the team. His ability to move and be more of a play maker is what's been missing from the QB room.
The best buy time with their heads up till the last moment and Minshew is better at that then AO.
However, at a presser last year Ao said, no one ever asked me to run. Those 2 times a game the lane is wide open is all I need from him. Maybe he will look to take off more this year knowing what the fans are looking for.

Same here. A couple of first downs or even just one like late in the 4th quarter that tears the guts out of the other team. That can be the difference between 8-9 or 10-7.KillerRaider30 wrote Wed May 01, 2024 3:17 pm:Those 2 times a game the lane is wide open is all I need from him.
