Koolaide brother, take a sip, it’s frickin delicious this time of yearBoKnows81 wrote Sun Aug 04, 2024 9:01 am:What makes you think Wilson is "going to bring it"? Just curious. I think our D line will be nasty but idk think it will be bc of Wilson.

I thought Wilson did a very good job of containing the run last season and forcing everything back inside. He obviously had nothing in terms of a pass rush from the outside but did show small glimpses of a pass rush from the inside. He also improved slightly as the season went on. Is it a coincidence that he bulked up for this season. Did the staff tell him that they wanted him to play more in the inside? Time will tell. He is in a great spot considering OL's will have to pick their poison (Max, Wilkins, Koonce). FAR to EARLY to call Wilson a bust. I think the staff will figure out how to optimally utilize him. I still think we will eventually sign Yannick Ngakoue (can NEVER have enough pass rushers) and maybe play Wilson mostly at DT.Amish Cabal » Mon Aug 05, 2024 5:11 am
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/la ... a229&ei=10Las Vegas Raiders' biggest takeaways from 3rd padded practice of camp
Who didn't practice?
Offensive linemen Kolton Miller and Jackson Powers-Johnson and wide receiver Jalen Guyton remain on the PUP list, while cornerback Brandon Facyson, running back Ameer Abdullah, defensive end Charles Snowden, and wide receivers Davante Adams and Tulu Griffin didn't practice.
Adams missed practice due to the birth of his child. According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Powers-Johnson is expected to return early next week, maybe even sooner. General manager Tom Telesco hopes that Miller will be back soon.
John Jenkins returns
The veteran defensive tackle has missed all of training camp thus far but finally returned to practice on Friday. The 35-year-old started all 17 games in 2023 and will be a pivotal player on the Raiders' defensive line this season.
QBs impress
It has been an up-and-down training camp for Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew, but the signal-callers put together their best practice on Friday.
Both quarterbacks got their chance with the starters and orchestrated multiple touchdown drives.
Though both signal-callers had excellent performances, O'Connell seemed to be the best offensive player on the field.
The 25-year-old was on point the entire day, throwing multiple touchdowns and barely missing a beat. According to Levi Edwards of Raiders.com, the former fourth-round pick made one of his best throws of camp during seven-on-seven drills and led a touchdown drive that ended in a Brock Bowers touchdown.
Friday's practice should generate optimism around the quarterbacks in Las Vegas, but we still need to see more days like Friday before getting too excited..
Two young WRs shine
With Davante Adams absent, the other wide receivers had a major opportunity to showcase their talent and skillset. On Friday, Tre Tucker and undrafted free-agent rookie Ramel Keyton took advantage of increased opportunities.
Tucker has had a rough camp but was all over the field on Friday. The former third-round pick hauled in two touchdowns on the day, one during seven-on-seven, and the other during team drills. The 23-year-old is expected to serve as Las Vegas' WR3 this season and build off an inconsistent rookie campaign.
Former Tennessee standout Ramel Keyton had a breakout practice, scoring a touchdown during team drills and putting together the best practice of his NFL career.
With the Raiders' shaky depth at wide receiver, Keyton could find his way on the roster if he can have more days like this one.
Alexander Mattison stands out
Dylan Laube has received most of the training camp hype when it comes to the running backs, but according to Vic Tafur of the Athletic, veteran Alexander Mattison has also had a solid training camp.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year deal with Las Vegas in March and will provide adequate depth at the running back position behind Zamir White, who is expected to be the starter.
Dylan Laube shines in more ways than one
According to Levi Edwards of Raiders.com, Laube continued to stand out as a pass-catcher, which he has done all offseason long. However, he also shined as a returner on Friday after the rookie "made a few defenders miss on a kickoff return to the house."

Ryan Tannerhill is still available if nobody steps up soon. He’s not great but he’s proven in a wide zone, run heavy and deep balls on play action.silver_ghost » Mon Aug 05, 2024 9:14 am
We have two QBs who in real games posted a record 2204 Yds, 12 TDs 7 Ints & 3305 Yds, 15 TDs and 9 Ints respectively. We ditch them & get Tannehill who had 1616 Yds, 4 TDs, 7 Ints. Sounds like a brilliant strategy. If the coaching staff thinks QB is so broken why not trade for Russell Wilson who posted: 3070 Yds, 26 TDs, 8 Ints. From all reports it appears the Steelers will start Justin Fields who is lighting it up in Training camp.WolfRaider wrote Mon Aug 05, 2024 8:05 am:Ryan Tannerhill is still available if nobody steps up soon. Its not a reach in the sense that he was a top 10. But it is in the sense that we didnt take a top 3 player that was available. Philly is a very well run team. They put together a SB winning roster 4 years ago. And 2 years ago the refs decided to let KC beat Philly in another SB. So how is it not a bad choice that they took Carter after we pass on him, but it would have been a bad choice if we did? Hopefully Wilson will be faster getting off the ball by the time of his 5th year option.RunOverByHubbard wrote Mon Aug 05, 2024 12:24 am:That is fact, that is, that Wilson was highly rated and almost all mocks had him in the top ten — so I would say it was not a reach. I think back to when Al Davis took JaMarcus first in the draft. It was not considered a reach as if I remember right he was rated highly. The problem was that he was not vetted correctly and things like maturity, work ethic, and intelligence were undervalued or not adequately explored. So Wilson was not a reach and we now wait for him to show that things like his slow get-off and lack of evolving technique will be things of the past and the potential scouts saw will be realized.

That's because he was so slow off the ball that he didn't over run plays and by the time the running. back was in his face he was just starting to move so he was right there.RI RAIDER wrote Mon Aug 05, 2024 4:17 am:I thought Wilson did a very good job of containing the run last season and forcing everything back inside. Stacey Toran died on this date back in '89. Did not see a better place to put this as he was preparing for another season with the team when he died in a car accident.
