The 49ers defense has it all. Don't you want to emulate them? Also, what does it cost to sign better LBers, we have the money why not improve the position? It will only add to the defense.BoKnows81 wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 10:29 am:Year after year after year teams were able to throw the ball on us whenever and however they want. So now when our secondary has been built up to finally have the potential to stop that, we want to bitch about teams running on us? Please, you can't have it all, even if you are a top 10 defense. It's a passing league, give me the secondary that balls out and can slow Mahomes down. Pacheco won't beat us alone.

The Bears statistically have a better defense than the Raiders. Are you disagreeing with that statement?BoKnows81 wrote Tue Aug 06, 2024 10:30 am:Yea, the Bears are a good team
Give me the better secondary any day of the week in a passing league.

What? The Raiders were 9th in total defense last year and the bears were 20th. We are absolutely better then bears when it comes to defense.silver_ghost wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 8:56 am:The Bears statistically have a better defense than the Raiders. Are you disagreeing with that statement?

The fact that not 1 of these two morons can put together at least just 1 solid day at training camp is very alarming.silver_ghost » Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:05 am

On the Pat McAfee show, they put up a list of NFL free agents. It was an impressive list. They were giving a rundown of players. They said word out of Vegas was Gilmore was going to the Raiders. They also said many of the players will not be signed until after week #1 (contracts are not guaranteed). They also talked about Kid Zit's plantar injury. They were saying how it lingers and its no guarantee he will be playing week #1. I can confirm (as I'm sure many on the board) that it is a nagging injury that seems to always rear its head when you have it.silver_ghost » Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:07 am
It takes months. I had it the first step you take once out of bed in the morning is a killer. It becomes worse if you are running and jumping.RI RAIDER wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:05 am:On the Pat McAfee show, they put up a list of NFL free agents. It was an impressive list. That's yards per game. Points per game is what I was talking about and is way more important of a stat.silver_ghost wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:05 am:Please take a look here:

In part, yards per game is how a defense is ranked by the NFL because yards allowed can help adjust for defenses who get screwed by their offense with turnovers on the minus side of the field. A terrible offense, especially a turnover or sack prone offense, puts defenses on the field in short yardage situations. So the NFL, wisely, uses yards per game because that is how defenses are put on a largely, or more largely, equal footing with regards to rank. And, not always but often, a defense that holds teams to fewer yards per game will also rank well with regards to points per game. Again, not always but quite often. We were a team that did well with points per game but were mid range with regards to yards per game. We are a perfect example of that, we were way toward the top of the league in INTs last year and middle of the pack in sacks.AngryRaidersFan wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:14 am:That's yards per game. I suppose so but I don't really give a rats ass how many yards a team gets on us.Attyla wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:00 pm:In part, yards per game is how a defense is ranked by the NFL because yards allowed can help adjust for defenses who get screwed by their offense with turnovers on the minus side of the field. I agree. Defensive stats can be misleading in garbage time.AngryRaidersFan wrote Wed Aug 07, 2024 12:26 pm: I suppose so but I don't really give a rats ass how many yards a team gets on us.
