but the point the person was making toward you was the correct ranking, which was skewed for points due to our large number of turnovers. He was correct in identifying that the Bears defense was better, and officially they were, we gave up a mid range of yards per game, and most the time that would equate to mid range in points per game, we just broke that mold due to factors outside of the yards per game.

I personally think they should take negative yards into account with things like interceptions. Ie. If a cb picks off a QB and returns it 50 yards for a pick 6. They should take those 50 yards off the QBs passing yards.

Does the nfl really rank defenses according to yards per game over points per game?? Then why does everyone have our defense ranked as 9th last year then??

I heard it a few times on various podcasts and I swear I read it a few places somewhere. I literally read we had the number 1 defense in the nfl last year after AP took over.
