Keep AP. One year for a rookie coach is ridiculous. You don’t do that.
1. Until the rutabaga is no longer the owner I don’t see much changing. Never say never and all but it’s highly unlikely we’re going to see any positive changes for the Raiders while he’s in control.
It’s great that he tries hard but that really doesn’t matter.
2. Given point #2 any coach he’s likely to be able to get here is likely going to do no better than AP.
3. AP is very much a mulligan because we didn’t hire RIch B as HC during our “awesome playoff run in 2021!” (chortle ).
4. Until we resolve the QB situation it likewise doesn’t matter what we do otherwise. As I noted in the thread about that fact the Raiders have ignored that premise for decades and here we are.
5. The only change I could potentially see is if Brady has a fair amount of influence on the Turnip. Because as he has shown, left to his own devices our owner has no clue what he is doing.
TLDR? AP is not the cause of the Raiders decade(s) long woes, he’s a symptom.

Most of these people have never seen a winning season or why the Raiders are the Raiders, i would bet most people here have no idea what is happening in this picture, who is in it and why, i bet 20% do and the rest wouldn't have any idea until they searched for the image.
edit: I could very well be wrong, and AP could turn out to be a very good head coach down the road. I just haven't seen anything from him that would lead me to think that.

....have to agree, and hope he learns from some of the clumsy on field, more so, management, and if the interim OC is not retained, he hopefully has lost his privileges in choosing another. .....his last choice was predictably a terrible choice, and unless you are working yourself into a lather over the highest possible draft pick, really hurt the team....NoClapsPlease wrote Fri Dec 06, 2024 4:52 am:We don’t need a reboot.

Yes last year seems not to have counted even if it was over half an entire season, granted he hasn't gotten any better at managing the game clock or the basics, but this is raider nation and the kool-aid runs cold and the excuses run deep, hell there are still people that want that crap QB back after 9 years of garbage time stats and nothing else, best just to shake your head sadly and move no from them.BoKnows81 wrote Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:22 am:Imagine people seriously wanting to keep AP as head coach. ...understood.....I wasn't a fan of the hiring in the first place, or how it seemed like players had too much say in it, but I am also worry about the effect that a lack of stability has in keeping, and attracting talent, when starting over every year or 2. ....either way, they probably ....won't make a decision based on what I think, so as always, i'll just have to roll with it......Hellbound wrote Fri Dec 06, 2024 7:12 am:Except for the fact he had 9 games last year and he's still making the same idiotic mistakes. Normally, I would agree with this but, AP has shown nothing that leads me to think he has any kind of head coaching acumen/talent/awareness............ fill in what ever other descriptor comes to mind. I like AP. I think he's a very good motivator of players/men. He just doesn't have the 'right stuff' for leading an NFL team to success... Sure, if he turns out to be the best candidate for the job. Turner hasn't really shown to be anything special imo.
