Looking at the the big mock draft database (with new mocks being included almost every day), it looks to me that we need to be in the top five for sure to get a QB, and maybe even top three.
The way I see the path to a new QB:
@Miami - Loss
Denver -- loss
@KC - loss
@Tampa Bay - loss
Atl -- not sure
Jacksonville - loss
@New Orleans- win?
LA Chargers - loss

If we play this right, we end up with 3 or 4 wins. We can do it! Just Lose Baby!

Our team has too much pride to tank. I’m expecting us to end up picking a QB in the bottom of the 1st or use our 2nd rd pick. Unless of course we honestly earn a top 3 selection.

I am watching, but I also have a slightly different reason why this season is not bugging me at all. I never really expected much over 6 wins to begin with. I had said, and continue to say there is way too much newness to be successful. And while I dipped my straw into the Kool Aid regarding Pierce, I suspected he was in over his head. I was told he was not, just look at last year. But we had bridge QB's and not a ton of depth, so this is not bugging me in the least.. I think once we whiffed on a QB in the draft, the plan all along was to focus on the draft this off season. No, I do not think we are tanking but I do think they are preparing to do what it takes to get the best QB in the draft.

I am, however, getting a bit old for these toss away seasons, I would really like to see serious progress before my liver gives out.

Does Telesco pull another Bowers? Hard to argue that at pick 4-5 he isn’t the bpa on the board at that point.

I would take Hunter and trade back into the bottom 1st and take Dart. Although I think New Orleans, especially if they hire Kiffin, will draft Dart, in which case, I'd take Milroe. Also, need another OT so keep that in mind.

That's exactly what Telesco would do. Having Hunter and Bowers has part of your core the next 10 years would be great but failing again at bringing in a QB would be a disaster.

We wouldn't be able to attract a top head coach and its hard to find a reasonable path to acquire a good veteran QB anywhere.

The only option would be someone like Beck, Ewers, Dart, Gabriel in the 2nd-3rd rounds and that's not moving the needle at all

That's what I want for the Raiders. Finally get a franchise QB and be a contender for the next decade. No one will remember this tank year, just like no one remembers the Warriors tank years.

The Warriors tanked for the 7th and 11th pick in the draft? Did you literally just make that up for no reason?
