If Darnold is the answer (not saying he is or isn't), he did us a solid at the end of the year. If he continued to play good at the end of the season, I honestly believe we would not be having this discussion. The Vikings would never let him go (they still might not). His salary/years would have been in a different spectrum if he continued his dominant play. He is still going to get paid, but not as much. I am still cautious about him being a system fit or a one year wonder. His signing will come with risk and whether we have the appetite for said risk. Hopefully the FO is prudent and builds this team from the outside in until we get our guy (whoever that is).RI RAIDER » Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:44 am
HORRIBLE OL. It actually reminded me of USC's OL and what Williams had to work with his last season. Anyone who says otherwise has a preconceived agenda about Sanders.rcraider wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:28 am:That´s absolute bullshit, you can watch any Colorado game and see that the O line was complete garbage , almost every play was a jailbreak and Sanders was always almost immediately under duress they also had almost no ability to run the ball.

No, it's not absolute BS...it's fact. The average time for an NFL QB to deliver the ball is 2.4 seconds.rcraider wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:28 am:That´s absolute bullshit, you can watch any Colorado game and see that the O line was complete garbage , almost every play was a jailbreak and Sanders was always almost immediately under duress they also had almost no ability to run the ball.

Well you´re into stats, here´s one for you 847 what is 847 ? that´s the amount of rushing yards Colorado had for the season ! to put that into perspective Ohio State ran for 2662 so what does all that mean ? that you are a one dimensional offense and the defense knows you can´t run the ball so they are coming every play. Sanders held the ball a lot because the protection broke down immediately, he ´s also not a 1 read QB, he goes through his progressions which is what you want to see for a guy entering the NFLraidersince63 wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:56 am:No, it's not absolute BS...it's fact. Not saying that Colorado's OL was top shelf but you cannot dispute the fact that Sanders averaging 3 seconds to make a throw does not put additional pressure on the OL but typically Sanders blames his team mates despite his own shortcomings.

Well, you can hang Colorado's inability to run the ball and the amount of times Shedeur threw the ball on his Father. Deion didn't bother to recruit a develop a running game or a solid OL, or any semblance of a defense. Make no mistake about it, Deion's approach and focus was all about promoting his Son, Shedeur.rcraider wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 6:13 am:Well you´re into stats, here´s one for you 847 what is 847 ? that´s the amount of rushing yards Colorado had for the season ! to put that into perspective Ohio State ran for 2662 so what does all that mean ? that you are a one dimensional offense and the defense knows you can´t run the ball so they are coming every play. Both things are true. The o-line was terrible and Sanders holds onto the ball way too long.Willmark » Mon Feb 10, 2025 8:00 am
Agree.Sir Raider Duck, OMS wrote Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:11 am:I see your point. But I think we can all agree that whoever signs Darnold is buying high (as opposed to the old business rule to always buy low and sell high).
If we sign him, I will have my fingers crossed. And if any offensive guru not named "Andy Reid" could keep Darnold's good play going, it would be Chip Kelly.

Cam and Shedeur, watching this Cam looks more explosive and has more velocity on his throwsraidersince63 » Mon Feb 10, 2025 8:49 am
Something else concerning Shedeur, many of the scouting reports on him say that he will need to work on changing some of mechanics/footwork, etc., and also the habit he has of patting the football with his left hand just before throwing.WolfRaider wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:01 am:Both things are true. All things considered, between just the two of them, I'd rather have Cam Ward...but I doubt either will be there at #6 anyway.rcraider wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 8:43 am:Cam and Shedeur, watching this Cam looks more explosive and has more velocity on his throws

Caveat being Brady, Spytek, Carroll, and Chip are sold on him then it's Sanders 100%.Oaktownonly wrote Sat Feb 08, 2025 10:25 am:Total hypothetical, let's say that Ward, Hunter, Carter, Graham, and Johnson are gone by the time we pick but Sanders and Jeanty are there, what should we do?

I think Sanders working under Kelly in his offence would be a success, he be a fit for what Kelly likes to do.DeathStar24 wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:31 am:Caveat being Brady, Spytek, Carroll, and Chip are sold on him then it's Sanders 100%.

Also Chip has a habit of rotating his running backs frequently so would the fan base take to a top 10 RB in Jeanty being used in committee instead of a true 3 down RB

A lot of Sanders hanging on to the ball so long was because he had to run for his life or took a 25 yard drop.RI RAIDER wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:44 am:HORRIBLE OL. If they decide to take Sanders, I m fine with it. I think Ward is the better QB, but I'm not a talent evaluator for the NFL.ToastPatterson wrote Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:05 pm:Good points, all.
