He was racing against the car where driver died. Carter and the other driver were legally intoxicated. Hes gonna fall..

I don't think the Raiders can touch him now though with a 10 foot pole

For me, it's not even the racing part. That falls under "Stupid College Students Acting Stupidly."

The troubling part for me is where he left the scene of the accident, then returned later and actively lied to the police about what happened, only coming clean when the holes in his story were pointed out.

Not good, to say the least.
Congrats: 1  These Raider Fans gave Sir Raider Duck, OMS a high five:

I'm thinking more about Ruggs. Raiders could not conceivably draft a player with history of being a driver racing where the other car crashed where there was fatality and where there is alcohol involved. And you're in Vegas too with alcohol available 24/7. What liability would the Raiders have if he crashed again and had been drinking. And what about the public relations nightmare. Objectively speaking, is it worth it?

Put this under the more facts need to be brought forth. Innocent until proven guilty.

If true this isn’t going to be easy to dismiss out of hand.

Yeah that’s a tough call.I don’t think he drops that much.he is an incredible prospect. If he was there at 7 I’d still take him and maybe Max and Waller could talk and mentor him about their situations with substance abuse.

Tricky situation

I get what you are saying but unless the Raiders are providing the alcohol and/or pouring down his throat, they would have no criminal or civil liability if this guy crashed while drinking/driving. Just as they had no liability when Ruggs did his thing.

This maybe a situation where it is to soon after the Riggs incident to take a guy with the back ground of drink driving

The Jacobs & Hobbs incidents went away quickly but this is different this involves the 2 death & although he may not have killed either he was directly involved

I personally have a huge issue with drink driving having seen the effect of it on my friend who lost his leg below the knee because of a drunk driver & how it affected his kids.

Then we have to see how this plays out but from what we know right now it doesn’t look good to me

You don't draft anyone with a lack of maturity or questionable decision making when you play football in sin city.

Stakes are too high...... It's a complete gamble if you do so......more times than not the player will crap out.

Did he get a DUI? No

Did someone die in his vehicle? No

Did he crash into someone? No

So none of you drove reckless when you were under 22. Years of age and stupid.

Jumping to a comparison to Ruggs situation is a big stretch.

I’d run to the podium if he was there at 7.

If he falls to 7 it’s a no brainer imo. I’d keep a tight leash on him his rookie year though.

Start crying now. There'll be no 1st round QB in 2023 drafted by the Raiders.

.
In the 1970s in rural Wisconsin teens did drag race on country roads. Didn't get caught because there was no traffic, no traffic cameras, no Satellite cameras, no houses for the next mile.

To compare that to the 2023 version of America is just as reckless as Carter's driving.

I went "parking" with my girlfriend in a farmer's cornfield numerous times after 10 PM and never got caught. Now, the Sheriff's Department can use Google to see that my car was there and send a squad.

I would not run to anything just yet. It was not like Ruggs, but let's see what the facts are.

And Reid is licking his chops. No idea how far he falls but he won’t get past the Chiefs at 31 as he’s already past their test of character.
