So it IS all about the money! That's exactly what that tweet was saying. It's not about respect! This has nothing to do with respecting the anthem and everything to do with NFL's greed.speedkills21 wrote Thu May 24, 2018 11:06 am:you know how much revenue you would lose and that revenue is all part of what pays them. I love how these guys love to bite the hand that feeds them. They really are clueless jocks. These comments aren't about social justice or anything its just spewing shit and if you think the orange guy is spewing shit so are these idiots.
SOrry its a dumb statement. Now if you told people to stop the serving say for the 30-50 seconds while anthem sure but to shut down the entire thing before the game is just stupidity.

yes i am expressing my opinions. and my opinion on this subject is simple...legislating morality has almost always been the wrong move and reversing course on legislating morality has almost always resulted in the people gaining freedoms and that is what I want, stop telling people they are not allowed any form of peaceful protest because it might upset someone's enjoyment of their escapismspeedkills21 wrote Thu May 24, 2018 11:16 am:thats your opinion too, again i have no problem with Ali and civil rights protests or guys protesting an unjust war. If you read my views on the guy who initially started the protests you will know i dont think it has to do with social justice or anything at all and more to with a pussy whip dude and attention seeking and same goes for the guy leading the other side. You can agree too disagree but this ain't the civil rights movement this is mostly lead by some overpaid narcisstic clowns on both sides who are both manipulating their followers.
As for the entire flag thing I do find it interesting that community activists like Jim Brown and Ray Lewis think this going about it the totally wrong away and distracts from the games on the field and takes away from what you do off it. Sorry i still think its more about attention seeking than anything .

again where we differ is you think this is an actual protest. I think the guy who really started it is brainwashed by his GF and then the other guy mouthed off and they are doing this to spite them rather than any real protest. Its just bullshit all around. Sorry if i am in the minority on this, but i don't see these guys as some moral crusaders i see them as pawns.Attyla wrote Thu May 24, 2018 11:22 am:yes i am expressing my opinions. and my opinion on this subject is simple...legislating morality has almost always been the wrong move and reversing course on legislating morality has almost always resulted in the people gaining freedoms and that is what I want, stop telling people they are not allowed any form of peaceful protest because it might upset someone's enjoyment of their escapism

I'm with you on this issue.NoClapsPlease wrote Thu May 24, 2018 9:29 am:are you purposely ignoring the elephant the room and choosing to go on and on about things that should not matter when it is the fans who are spear-heading this issue?
its very simple (unless you don't believe in accountability): If you don't want the flag to be disrespected, everyone in the stadium must stand during the anthem, unless only the fans are allowed to disrespect the flag?
or is it only when one is on the clock?
or is it because the fans pay to be there. Does their ticket stub state on the back that if they don't stand, the flag won't feel disrespected
how is an object disrespected anyway?
I'm just trying to understand all the mental gymnastics and goal-posts relocations involved with this whole issue. Why can't the fans be required to stand upon entry?

and I would grant you that some of them have no idea what they are talking about...that being said, uninformed protest should be granted the same protections as informed protestspeedkills21 wrote Thu May 24, 2018 11:29 am:again where we differ is you think this is an actual protest. wait.....whaaa?Ivanavich wrote Thu May 24, 2018 11:31 am:I'm with you on this issue.
It's very elitist to claim that not standing for the National Anthem is disrespectful and it somehow causes harm to America... but then this disrespectful behavior that harms America doesn't apply to everybody in the room, only the players on the field.
I call bs!
As a fan I am offended by all the female sideline reporters interrupting the game action to tell me that some player's wife bought a new dress from the most expense fashion designer in NY.
As a fan I am offended by the playing of the country music during the game and at halftime by a bunch of overpay and untalented fashion models. These people represent greed and are an insult to all the talented musicians and singers in America.
As a fan I am offended by the playing of the National Anthem at NFL games. The National Anthem was designed to be played at events sponsored by the government, NOT at recreational events like NFL games.
So... why don't my wants as a fan matter as much as those who are bitching about black athletes not standing for the National Anthem? Your dollar isn't worth any more than my dollar.
It's bs... and it's not even well hidden bs either.

The patriotic angle is a red herring. They can burn the flag while chanting death to America for all I care - just do it on your own platform that you pay for.grosse gurke wrote Thu May 24, 2018 10:50 am:The only patriotic issue here..... is which patriots face will appear on the bill that goes into the owners pocket.
