My man. Had no idea you were a fellow metal head. Wish I had been able to see Death before chuck died. Death to All is playing in San Diego in a few months and I do plan on catching that show. It’s the closest I can get to Death.GUYDON wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:43 am:In the days of Ozzy, Dio, Iron maiden, I was considered a "rocker", then I was called a "metalhaed" in the days of Metallica Slayer, Megadeth... then the deathmetal scene hit when I was playing in bands and we were covering bands like death, bolt thrower, sepultura... back then any band that wasnt metal, was a bunch of "posers" (a word we used 100x a day). Now, Im 50. I dont hate on anybody who is out there that just does the easy thing trying to make money. Except for Carr, he is a poser.

Bolt Thrower was my go to band before partols my 1st tour in Iraq. I still have a lot of love for them to this day. Though, now days Im mostly a classical music, old jazz, and bluegrass guy. Thats what happens when you get old.Ordos wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:45 am:Man, I haven't heard Bolt Thrower or Sepultura in a hot minute

Natural progression to me. There's some interesting studies on the ties between metal and classical, influenced by personality traits of the listenerGUYDON wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:58 am:Bolt Thrower was my go to band before partols my 1st tour in Iraq. I never got to see Death either, and back then I went and saw EVERYBODY. Death was a super hard show to get.VEfreak wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:56 am:My man. Had no idea you were a fellow metal head. Those are all great choices. "Im not a big music guy" doesnt compute for me. Music is life for me. Im listening to Music right now. I have music on at all times no matter where Im at or what Im doing. Its probably my little primate brain needing to be entertained at all times.HesterLayes wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:02 am:I’m not a big music guy..
If I do feel like listening it’s Freddie,Jimi,or Ac/DC
I stick to my guys

Adam Duce formerly of Machine head lives in my neck of the woods and is a local contractor. Has done some work for a couple neighbors of ours. They say he pulls no punches when discussing the music industry. Looks like he does great work.Amish Cabal » Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:31 am
Speaking of Canadian bands, my two faves are Rush and Triumph. Seen Triumph once, Rush 4 times. Big Peart fanatic from way back. Any you chuckle heads got something snide to say about those guys?
