I think you just swung and missed on his point.heavyD wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:49 pm:Weird. Are you suggesting they just give up and don't try to build a good defense?
justwinbaby911 » Thu Nov 17, 2022 8:38 pm
No way that contract in 2023 and on, nope didn't do enough. He's going to have to win out. And it's not just about him it's just too much money not worth it It's time to rebuild.justwinbaby911 » Thu Nov 17, 2022 8:40 pm
Contract looks ugly he's not worth that. This was truly a prove it year. No point paying him if you can't win anyways.Raidernation1979 wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 7:20 pm:I think there’s a real chance he’s gone, not purely because I want him gone, but because the contract is set up to do so.

And it will lead to another season without the playoffs. He will not make the playoffs again as an NFL quarterback. Stay or trade/release, moving on puts the Raiders in better shape long term. Build the defense through more than the draft save some money, and build a defense through free agency as well. It's time for a rookie QB, or a bridge QB game manager and build the D. No more blaming the D It's forget about the offense and move on and build a defense. They forgot about the defense long enough and it hasn't worked it's been a Carr crutch. We Will give him 10 years because the defense sucks. Ridiculous. There's no other team that would do this, no other example. There's no guy that's been a quarterback for 10 years with a record like his and they probably the history of the NFL It's funny shit. If he's good or if he's not it's just terrible team building and he should have been gone a long time ago just to free up the cap room.Willmark wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 4:22 pm:I never bet on anything, but if I did?
I’d put every cent I have on him being back. Why? Two words: Mark Davis.
Davis is so enamored with Carr that there is no way he can contemplate parting from him,
Carr isn’t going anywhere boys, better make peace with it.

Which helps the defense more and why?
A single risky first round pick
Or
30 million more to add to the current 65 million signed on the '23 defense. Essentially adding 50% more cap resources directly to the defense.
My opinion is that moving on from a 35 million dollar QB will help the defense more than anything, and I believe you will find 99% of this board and the world agrees.
I also think Carr stays and I hate it, but if we are being honest, it should be clear which move helps more imo.

Again I don’t want him back, haven’t since 2018. I’m only telling you he is going to be back and are going to continue the same conversations as we are right now.justwinbaby911 wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 8:54 pm:And it will lead to another season without the playoffs. No the top need on this defense is a DT and it's not even close. The teams interior pass rush is absolutely loathsomeIvanavich wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 10:29 pm:Well, there you go again.
How many defenses are paying 2 vet DEs top $?
You can't fix this defense by adding $30 million to their cap number. Who you gonna get? You'd need to trade for anybody elite and where are you going to get the draft capital from?
Your living a pipe dream which only you believe. The defense needs draft picks. All the good defenses were built with draft picks first, then they traded for an elite player to get over the top.
Free Agency is an illusion. Nobody wants to play in Las Vegas. Jones was the only FA they could find, and he played in a desert in Phoenix. Jones likes hot weather. Any FA who does sign wants a PREMIUM above market to play here.
All the Raiders could find in FA was Jones. Read the tea leaves. FAs hated the Oakland stadium and now they hate the damn waterless desert.
Thankfully, I've seen no sign that Z and McD are having the same pipe dream as you. Draft a D. The offense needs a new HB. Aside from that, they are close to being good. Carr can hand the ball off to the new Marcus Allen and throw 3 yard passes to the new Marcus Allen and watch the new Marcus Allen win the games with TDs scored quickly and in the clutch. Jacobs is a one-dimensional average HB who, if you feed him the ball, will burn a lot of clock and get the offense up to 17 points. He'd look good on the 49ers, who don't need a HB to score a lot of points. The Raiders need a HB who can score a lot of points quickly - you know, like Fat Andy's 3 elite skill players can do.
The top need on the defense is an elite CB1. And it's the top need by a mile. Most of the good defenses have an elite CB1. An elite CB1 would have the 2nd most QB sacks on this sad pass defense.

So with the 3rd pick in next years draft the Raiders should select Jalen Carter from Georgia?Raiderz4life wrote Fri Nov 18, 2022 4:00 am:No the top need on this defense is a DT and it's not even close. The teams interior pass rush is absolutely loathsome

why draft a DL when you can just overpay for a washed up DL? It's the Raider way, why change the formula that has created so much content on the site?mranquales » Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:36 am
Nothing will help our team unless:heavyD » Fri Nov 18, 2022 7:59 am
I’m being totally honest in that the offense is good enough to win with a top 15 defense. Building a top 15 defense should be the goal and I don’t mean via free agency as that simply hasn’t worked out for this organization.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Thu Nov 17, 2022 6:27 pm:I am curious about your logic here, take the offense completely out of the picture.
