As a Raiders fan that lives in Denver, I will say that the Broncos & fans would love to have Derek Carr. During the radio show on Monday morning, the hosts raved about his game as well as his presser following the game. By the end of their show, they were hoping that the Raiders would 'pull a typical Raiders move and let Carr walk' (their quote not mine) and give the Donks the chance to pick him up.Lamonica_D » Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:28 pm
Carr was a 2nd round pick in 2014 and in hindsight and looking at who was drafted before him you can say he is the best. If he was a #1 pick nobody would have him in the hot seat.kramNAVILLUS wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:24 pm:As a Raiders fan that lives in Denver, I will say that the Broncos & fans would love to have Derek Carr. Denver has learned the hard way what its like to not have a solid QB since their 2015 SB win and they seem to appreciate what Carr does on the field compared to most Raiders fans. Us Raiders fans went through the endless cycle of shit qb's for more than a decade - I don't understand why fans would want to risk going through that again when the Raiders are finally building quality talent throughout the roster. Mistakes often overshadow success - don't let those mistakes blind you from enjoying something.

Aaron Donald is the best player in that draft. There are others that are right up there, including Jake Matthews, Mike Evans and Zack Martin (he may be the second best)Lamonica_D wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:28 pm:
He is the best player coming out of 2014. You can make a case for Mack and Clowney. That's it.

IMO if Carr went to a good team with some hype he’d get the Matt stafford treatment. When did stafford get any sort of hype on the lions? Goes to a talented team and it’s all aboard the stafford train.kramNAVILLUS wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:24 pm:As a Raiders fan that lives in Denver, I will say that the Broncos & fans would love to have Derek Carr. Just to touch on this real quick. Don't be under any illusion that what the players make have a big impact on the cost of a gameday experience. The largest driver of that cost is owner greed. It's akin to bitching about the audacity of someone asking for $15 an hour to work in food service while the owner of the business is off to the side hoarding money like a dragon with gold.WNYRAIDER wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 1:14 pm:I don't think that any football player should get a 40 million a year contract. It would be swell if the everyday mom and pop who carried the sport for decades and made it what it is could still afford to take their kids to a game or 2 a year.

Actually, Seat License sales is the primary factor contributing to high ticket prices. For example, the seat license revenue/corporate sponsorship revenues contributed $1 billion to construct Allegiant Stadium. Once the licenses were sold that means the season tickets are a guaranteed sale, which means the team can charge as high as prices as they want to for the game tickets, and the Raiders do just that.Black Sunshine wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:04 pm:Just to touch on this real quick. It seems like some fans have gotten the years of utter crap between Gannon and Carr at the Qb position. There is no reason for the Raiders to get a new Qb when they have one of the best right now.kramNAVILLUS wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 3:24 pm:As a Raiders fan that lives in Denver, I will say that the Broncos & fans would love to have Derek Carr. Carr is playing well, even though he's had some rough starts to a few games. I don't see any reason to even think about a contract extension since it's clear that isn't happening in-season (and shouldn't) and there's way to many moving parts between now and the end of the season that would impact whatever decision we made next offseason.Aqua » Tue Oct 19, 2021 6:32 pm
The entire time he played for the Lions. Stafford was a number one overall draft pick and always revealed the skills to justify same.raiders93 wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:03 pm: When did stafford get any sort of hype on the lions? .

DC has made it known multiple times he plans on going nowhere. He wants to play his entire career in our Colors.SkullCrusher wrote Mon Oct 18, 2021 12:02 pm:Carr says as much, however Steve Young is very very concerned about this.

- mods have been discussing how to make the boards better and more usable
- given the polarizing nature of Carr discussion, we've tried to keep it from dominating every thread, however a Carr super thread was never the goal.
- the old Carr thread contains so much trolling and so many pissing matches that it just invited more.
- we decided to let new Carr threads form (please don't take this as a reason to turn every discussion on another topic into a Carr thread).
- This isn't 'the' Carr thread, it's just a good start at a fresh start. If there's a unique idea for another Carr thread, go ahead and start another.
- I picked a nice link posted by raiderandbulldog as the starting point to split this out of the other thread, apologies if I missed some prior amazing posts but this just seemed like a good post to start with and the thread was refreshingly void of trolling or stupid memes after that point

Would have been a lot worse if we didn't have him. The fact that he has 8 wins against a division rival while dealing with the crap he has had to is pretty impressive. I'm still blown away by the QB being the only one who has a win/loss stat vs other teams.Aqua wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:31 pm:Carr's record against the Broncos is 8 wins, 7 losses.

There should be no anticipation unless the route breaks down or the play breaks down. What you are seeing somewhat is a broken play and creating on the fly.

NFL teams generate over 50% of their revenue from TV deals making it the single largest source of income for teams. Merchandising also makes a very large contribution as well. PSL sales only increase ticket prices in the sense of classic supply and demand. If nobody buys the PSL or tickets at high prices, then the price drops unless they want empty seats in the building. Tickets prices are stupid because people will pay the cost, simple as that. The fact that your average working class family can't go to a game without spending a ridiculous amount of money is purely because the owners are greedy.Aqua wrote Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:38 pm:Actually, Seat License sales is the primary factor contributing to high ticket prices. The increase in ticket prices gives the team the money to pay higher salaries to the players.
