i hope they look at the numbers very closely before making any rash decisions. that's a lot of coin (see what i did there) that could go into shoring up other positions/getting free agents on a rebuilding team.Attyla wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:00 pm:it is still not a forgone conclusion that Carr does not get an extension

I'm hoping he doesn't. Should have kept Mack. Would love to see Mack and Crosby together.Attyla wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:00 pm:it is still not a forgone conclusion that Carr does not get an extension

Bridgewater is on a 1 year contract. He is a FA after this season. What does what Reggie wanted have to do with anything. With the posts I have seen today there must be a free drugs thread I'm missing.Aqua wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:02 pm:Maybe do a Carr for Bridgewater trade , similar to Goff for Stafford. Remember that Reggie wanted Bridgewater but the Vikings traded up in the draft to pick him a few spots ahead of the Raiders.

At this point nothing is off the table, including bringing Reggie back to work for the Raiders. Mark has gone outside the box before and he might do so again.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:06 pm:Bridgewater is on a 1 year contract. He is a FA after this season. Oh yeah, with his injured reserve self & underwhelming play since he’s been a Bear.. overrated player. We should’ve done better with those picks thoughOaktownonly wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:03 pm:I'm hoping he doesn't. Should have kept Mack. Would love to see Mack and Crosby together.

revisionist history. there was no way to know how he would have progressedSpirit in Black wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:29 pm:Oh yeah, with his injured reserve self & underwhelming play since he’s been a Bear.. overrated player. We should’ve done better with those picks though

Either way, 2018 and beyond he’s been disappointing as a whole. 25 mil is what we would’ve had to pay him lmao. Not even close to the dominant force Donald is game in & out.Attyla wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:31 pm:revisionist history. there was no way to know how he would have progressed
at the time of the trade, we were trading away one of the top 5 defensive players in the league and we got shit for it in return

So here is a thought, what if as a franchise the Raiders and perhaps some fans are looking at from this perspective? The Joe Joe » Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:39 pm

I don't know what Mark's decision will be on who the GM will be. If Mark Davis gets a well known head coach, the HC will want to hire their own GM, thus, they will get there own players. If Mayock is back, he is not going to do what fans want him to do. I expect Mayock will bring Carr back at least next year. If Mayock wanted to get rid of Carr, Derek probably won't be on the team.Opoponax50 wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:25 pm:If he's gonna be our GM, then yes.
If Gruden was still here, yes.
But Mark's gonna have to make some hard decisions this offseason. If he wants Mayock to stay, then Mayock needs to be able to make his own decisions, and if that includes jettisoning Carr, Mark has to accept it.
If Mayock leaves or if Mark fires him, then Mark will still need to hire a GM. That GM will have to be able to make his own decisions.
So unless Mark decides he wants to play GM, it's not going to be up to him whether Carr stays or goes.
Opoponax50 » Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:55 pm
For short term viability (see mediocrity), keeping Carr is the best choice. If Mayock just wants to keep the team's metaphorical head above water for a season, then he'll hold onto Carr. But that's an extremely short sighted solution.deathstar wrote Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:40 pm:I don't know what Mark's decision will be on who the GM will be.
