his contract contains no dead cap space nor any guananteed money. He has a small workout bonus and just over 19M in salary if he plays the entire season.Aqua wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 8:35 am:Are the Raiders obligated to pay Carr for the 2022 season ? As for trading him, I don't imagine a team is willing to pay him $20 million plus for the 2022 season. Similar players such as Bridgewater, Brissett, Mariota, and Newton have one year contracts paying approximately $3 to $5 million per year.

You may be right, but as much as Carr knows nothing about actually winning, he does know about stats and his stats (yardage) may just entice another franchise to pull the trigger. He is still relatively young and of course he has taken care that he does not get hit too much in games so he is also relatively healthy for his age. I can see another team taking a chance on him...at least I hope.Aqua wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 8:35 am:Are the Raiders obligated to pay Carr for the 2022 season ? At this point I think giving Mariota a week of first team reps and a start at KC makes good sense. After that, take it from week to week whether to start Carr or Mariota. Once the 2021 Raiders is complete, reevaluate the QB position at that time.Attyla wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 8:40 am:his contract contains no dead cap space nor any guananteed money. Carr Sucks.live.B.A.raida » Mon Dec 06, 2021 8:51 am
Players come and go, coaching staff comes and goes, hell now even 2 GM’s and the only thing that stays the same is Carr leading the team to mediocrity season after season….signal wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 7:59 am:Carr is a poser. He likes to come off like he is a gamer, but whenever the going gets tough, he folds like a cheap shirt. I know I sound like a broken record, but the Raiders are going nowhere with him. I do find it pathetic that many are still fooled by the poser.
Trade Carr in the offseason and use the draft capital to get a young QB and use the cap space to improve the talent level and depth of the team. IF this franchise gives him an extension, this team is going to rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat the same old shit....they will tease early and disappoint greatly. How much does this franchise have to lose before they realize change is needed?

What makes you think that people are going to watch Carr's tape and decide they want to give up an asset, or assets, to acquire him? Will he even go to a new team?signal wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 7:59 am:Trade Carr in the offseason and use the draft capital to get a young QB and use the cap space to improve the talent level and depth of the team. For the same reason Gruden and Mayock stuck with Carr. He is the perennial teaser and he will probably have another great game this season. I do not think it out of the question that another GM and/or HC out there likes what they see when Carr does have a good game and think themselves capable of fixing what they don't like. Some will look at his numbers, in particular his yardage and pass percentage and think they can work with that...and possibly blame Carr's shit play more on the Raiders themselves and less on Carr. Yes, I do think he would garner some interest and in the end, some draft capital.Jeevo wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:24 am:What makes you think that people are going to watch Carr's tape and decide they want to give up an asset, or assets, to acquire him? There are a number of opposing team fans and talking heads that think Carr is a good QB. Maybe another team thinks he can thrive in a different environment.Aqua » Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:40 am
I think Denver , Seattle, the Jets, Carolina and a few other teams would probably be willing to give a 2nd round draft pick to the Raiders for Carr.Willmark wrote Mon Dec 06, 2021 9:25 am:^
Same boat.
Are people really thinking that teams are going to only look at these last five games to make a determination? Or are they likely to look at the totality of his career?
