Nonetheless, the problem I have with the Herbert perspective is the slurping he got here in 2020. They just beat us to end the season. It was open season on Raiders-Chargers here. The same “objective” people were squawking. We learned from everyone that the Chargers had way more talent than us, a better QB, and we could expect to finish behind them in the division.
When that didn’t happen, nobody had to own that. Nobody had to eat their words. They just waltz back into this thread and act like it’s Carr fans (which I certainly am not outside of just pulling for the overall team on Sundays) trying to dismiss another team’s QB.
They act like he is being randomly picked on here and bullied for the sake of Carr when they spent all the time talking him up (as if he were a Raider).
My view is simple: You haven’t done it until you’ve done it. I do not care how much he looks the part. I don’t care about the stat lines. He hasn’t done anything yet and his odds of doing anything this year (make the playoffs) are not good.

This hit me right in the gut. I was on the Carr train for about his first five years, but the hope is gone. You are right about Herbert but one thing when Herbert gets his new contract, it will be a faction of a billion dollar contract. It will probably be $275-$300 million. I would pick Herbert over Tua every single time before the fact. Tua's back injury was a hard pass to me before the draft because I did not believe he would have a long career.
