We squandered 5 first round picks in 2 years. I would rather have wilson than those picks right now.CWood24 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:08 am:No real draft picks for 2 years mortgaging your future when your not that close yeah that was a great trade but for the Seahawks
If we’d made that trade we’d be fucked with no future & we’d be making the same old mistakes we always do with the good old band aid, no doubt Wilson does well but i’d rather not set the franchise back further we need more than one talent on this roster
We need to worry about what we’re doing rather than what others are doing

Please learn to read. I never said that trading Carr would get all of the draft capital back but would provide Ziegler some draft capital to play with. Good grief.Trainnvain wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:57 pm:It has nothing to do with homerism. In your original post one of your presumptions was that trading Carr would recoup the draft capital lost in the Wilson trade. I just used your own argument against you. Using your logic, how could the Raiders possibly recoup the same draft capital as we would give up in trading for Wilson I dont think Carr is better than Wilson. But when you start factoring in net draft capital and salary cap considerations, the trading away the quantity and quality of assets that the Broncos did, doesnt make sense for the Raiders, unless they are doing a complete teardown/rebuild

The only reason he’s the 4th best is because there isn’t a fifth team in that division.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:09 pm:Yet 14 more completions equated to almost 200 yards. That is 14 yards per. Completion percent at or near the same.
Noone talks about our 28-14 thumping that team (Herbert single handedly obviously, lol) gave us when we were 3-1 and heathy. Narratives.
Regardless, we have the 4th best QB in the division by a country mile. It is what it is. Denver's defense makes this very bad for us.

Yes if you start 8-5 and finish 9-8, Losing to the Texans in those final 4 weeks, I’m going to look at the QB….Toons wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:41 am:Herbert choked away a playoff appearance? That is very wrong. It was him that converted so many long 3rd and 4th downs to get scores or keep the the team alive when needed. Blame his horrible defense that let the team down. If it was the opposite situation for Raiders you know damn well Carr would have crumbled and game would have not even go into OT. The season ended perfectly for Raiders in Cinncy, Carr failing by throwing a BS interception and that's what he is.

When the Chargers beat the Raiders at the end of the 2020 season in LV, this whole forum laughed at the idea that the Raiders would be better than the Chargers in 2021,toobscruiser wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 11:22 am:Weren’t the Chargers going to compete with the Chiefs for the division last season?
Will the Raiders be better than last season? Maybe, maybe not. Will they be better coached? Yes.
The Chargers didn’t have to deal with all the controversy surrounding their head coach, or their #1 receiver killing someone, or their cornerback threatening to kill someone. And they still couldn’t beat the Raiders when it mattered.

His 2nd year & second coaching staff. He didn't miss a beat from his rookie year. Meanwhile I see the excuse "give time for Carr to learn the offense" in about every other thread. Sorry the dude's not overrated no matter how many times you try to tell us. That team would've probably had 2-3 more wins if the HC didn't make so many boneheaded 4th down callsBe_Easy_25 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:59 pm:Yes if you start 8-5 and finish 9-8, Losing to the Texans in those final 4 weeks, I’m going to look at the QB….
And I do.
He deserves it.
He’s arm.
He’s some stats.
He aint a real winner yet.
Btw, not the best year for the “it’s his 2nd year” excuse, so don’t bring it. I think we just saw a QB from his draft class win the AFC.

So excuse Carr in his 8th year, going on 9th?Be_Easy_25 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:59 pm:Yes if you start 8-5 and finish 9-8, Losing to the Texans in those final 4 weeks, I’m going to look at the QB….

I like Herbert but does Herbert need a Hall of Fame team on offense and defense to get to the playoffs? There is always the it was the only 2nd season? Really? Jalen Hurts played on a less talented team who also was the same draft class as Herbert made the playoffs. Joe Burrow showed the whole NFL what a real second season QB can do even with a terrible offensive line. I don't care about Herberts stats, he can throw 40, 50, or 60 tds. Show me a QB who can't win and I will show you a loser.toobscruiser wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 10:30 am:Didn’t our 4th best qb knock out the Hall of Famer Herbert head to head in a playoff or bust game? A game we should’ve won easily if not for a complete defense collapse in the 4th quarter. Did Herbert not lead his team with superior talent to a 3rd place finish in the division?

You mean like Carr who led the 31st ranked offense over the last 7 games of 2019 after getting into the playoff hunt?deathstar wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 5:57 pm:I like Herbert but does Herbert need a Hall of Fame team on offense and defense to get to the playoffs? I never said Carr is an elite QB, he is above average 12-14 QB in the league to me. I am referring to the Chargers/Raiders game only. Unlike Carr, Herbert went on so many 4th downs and still could not win the game. He lacks leadership to have his teammate play up to their talent and win. You won't see Tom Brady doing nothing, he will get on the WR/Te when they drop passes.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 6:15 pm:You mean like Carr who led the 31st ranked offense over the last 7 games of 2019 after getting into the playoff hunt?
How about the same Carr that couldn't beat the Jets in '20 to remain in the playoff hunt after 'mvp' rumors and another solid start?
The only reason Carr was not a 'loser' this year is because the team carried him. He tried his best to lose out. 16 turnovers in the last 11 games - all on Carr. Hell, he was throwing picks and coughing up the ball so much to end the year he hurt more than he helped.
I guarantee noone thinks Herbert is a loser that matters. Can you find any single legitimate site or source that ranks Carr above Herbert?
Can any of you? This is your fandom speaking for you, not logic.
