Raiderbeat interviewed Darren Waller regarding coach McDaniels offense. Darren Waller said, "It’s Taken Time for a Lot of People.” As a offense or defense coordinator, the coordinator put your ego aside and don't put the offense you want but put the players to their strengths. I know the QB gets the most blame for the team losing regardless of the QB. I don't have a problem the Raiders move on from Derek Carr. One thing I do know is that Bill Bellicheck's coaching tree is the worst in the NFL, Bill's coordinator has lasted no more than 2-3 seasons as a head coach with the exception of Bill Obrien. Josh has failed with the Broncos and will certainly fail with the Raiders, I have no doubt of that with or without Derek Carr.

Start crying now. There'll be no 1st round QB in 2024 drafted by the Raiders.

New HC - GM combinations change systems. It's normal.

The players who catch on, stay.

The players who fail, leave.

Carr has been through too many changes.

Waller hasn't been a blocker. He mostly ran routes behind the LBs. Being asked to do other things will be difficult for him.

Many of the offensive players learned 'ground and pound.' Now, they have to be more diverse. Some will fail. Carr may fail. Waller may fail. And on, and on.

LIfe in the NFL isn't easy. If you can't or won't fit in... you'll fit in the unemployment line.

McD seems like a punk. But that doesn't mean that he is, or that he will fail.

So far, I don't see the HC failing. I see him trying to figure out how to cope with not having his own players at all 22 starting spots.

Blow it out your ass Waller. You weren’t asked to learn organic chemistry or particle physics in one off-season. It’s football. The route trees, blocking assignments, and coverage schemes are practically the same throughout the league. All you’re really learning is terminology. Yes there is a certain amount of nuance and chemistry that develops over time, but the Raiders often can’t execute the basics.

Kevin O’Connell has Minnesota rolling.

Brian Daboll has the Giants rolling.
Maybe their systems are so simple. Who knows?

Raiders always want us to be patient through a rebuild.
Raiders always want us to be patient through understanding an offense. It takes a whole season to get it. Next season they’ll understand all the language, etc.

ZZZZzzzz….

The excuses are old.
Win the football games.

Darren Waller 16 receptions 175 yards 1 TD 3rd highest paid player on the team at 11,165,000.

So far, that's 698,000 a catch give or take with absolutely no mention of his multiple drops (how much is tickets and food at a Raider game?). Guy spent the off season doing whatever it was he was doing (going to basketball games?).

It's not my fault it's Josh McDaniels fault. Got it. Of course being missed in all this is the fact that Josh hasn't had one of his star players he was counting on and rewarded handsomely with a fat new contract.

Sorry about your boo-boo Darren. I miss the good ol' days of pro football when they couldn't stop a player from coming off the field.

Memo to Waller: You're being paid like an All-Pro but playing like a scrub. Knock it off. Nobody wants to hear your whining.

This. Unfortunately his inconsistent play will continue with the pendulum pointing too FAR more no impact games than the other way.

Where are all of those folks on here who insisted against pretty good arguments the raiders should give into wallers demands right before the season and rip up his old contract? There were quite a few if memory serves.

Nobody thought he'd go into the tank to this degree, though. He got the big money and seems to have stopped trying.

I was pretty certain we were going to do a deal, but I was pretty certain that the cap next year was gonna make the spending unsustainable...if memory serves

Na— you were noncommittal and didn’t really respond to the argument directly and just kept saying “these athletes should make as much as they can” or something similar. The only reason I remember it is bc you said it so many times. There were others more firmly entrenched in the re-sign him category.

So those of us who said the raiders shouldn’t do it were more right than we actually realized is what you are trying to say? ;)

I'm not sure what our options were? He was here from the previous regime.

He had a big contract as it was I guess(?) we could have traded him? Forced him to play?
