Justin Herbert gets a five year $262.5 million contract, congratulations to him. The Chargers are not going to win the AFC West because the Chiefs and Raiders are in the same division. Justin and Chargers are going to choke forever because won't they won't keep their star players.Sold My Soul » Tue Jul 25, 2023 6:18 pm

Chargers have something we do not have. A guy who can sling it but is still extremely young. We constantly talk about getting that franchise QB who we can lock up for a good stretch. Well, you have to pay for that and the Chargers did exactly that, and did it BEFORE the cap starts to go up a lot with the new TV deals. If we do get our guy, his second deal will be after the cap increases and we will be paying a lot more.16 to 88 » Wed Jul 26, 2023 9:07 pm
Great contract for the Chargers.BigJerk » Sat Jul 29, 2023 10:48 am
Seeing as Daniel Jones is racking in $40 mill a year ... Deshaun Watson, Russel Wilson getting 50 NOW??16 to 88 wrote Wed Jul 26, 2023 9:07 pm:Great contract for the Chargers.
Cap hits
2023/8.4
2024/19.3
2025/37.3
2026/46.3
So they for sure get off on the "cheap" for 2 years before it starts getting dicey. And 2025's team cap will help 37.3 hit. 2026 and beyond it's eye popping.
So much like the Russell signing over in Denver they basically have two years to get it done before for he starts eating a gargantuan amount of the teams cap. Unlike Russell however, he will be 27 as opposed to 36 with a lot less wear and tear...

For sure that's a good deal for both sidesBigJerk wrote Sat Jul 29, 2023 10:48 am:Seeing as Daniel Jones is racking in $40 mill a year ... Deshaun Watson, Russel Wilson getting 50 NOW??
I see this as a Bargain all the way through.
$46 mill in 26??
GTFO
That is so Team Friendly, I'm jealous!

Yeop. Definitely team friendly. As noted two years before it starts to get dicey. 37.3 is just a wee shy of 40. Yes, the cap will be higher but he's been playing forBigJerk wrote Sat Jul 29, 2023 10:48 am:Seeing as Daniel Jones is racking in $40 mill a year ... Deshaun Watson, Russel Wilson getting 50 NOW??
