Both Jacobs and Saquon were on the franchise tag last year, and are in the discussion for the franchise tag again this year, or their teams may let them hit free agency. Here’s their numbers last year while on the franchise tag compared with their previous year numbers.signal » Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:11 am
Not interested in breaking the bank for either of them. The Raiders have the luxury of having a RB whose proven he can get it done on a rookie contract. While I like Jacobs, I think he will be about the money come free agency and would rather the Raiders simply go in another direction and use their resources on fortifying the trenches and finding a cheaper option at RB in either free agency or the draft to backup Zeus.miles_j20 » Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:20 am
I would say no to either. I was a fan of Jacobs but last year was pretty disappointing and he is not worth the contract he is going to ask for. He is not washed up by any means. I wouldn't be surprised if he has another good season on another team but I think the Raiders could make better use of their resources than paying Jacobs what he is going to ask. Especially with the way Zeus came on towards the end of the year.RunOverByHubbard » Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:21 am
I prefer Jacobs over Barkley, but I don't have strong feeling about retaining JJ. I like him a lot, but the $$ can be spent elsewhere, like in the trenches. Look, if the Chiefs can pick up Pacheco as the 251st pick in the draft (7th round, Rutgers), a RB can be found in the lower rounds that is good enough. Abdullah is also a free agent. I am so-so about him, but at least he knows how to catch the ball out of the backfield with good hands.MexicanHulk » Sat Feb 24, 2024 9:29 am
If I had to choose one, I think Saquon is better & could be cheaper. Also because Jacobs looked as though his body is declining from the usage. He looked slower this past season. Saquon has less wear on him since he’s had injury years. Plus he’s always been the more physically gifted one &, by all accounts, he’s a good locker room guy too. Both were elite backs. Still think Saquon is. But because of the above, Jacobs may not be elite anymore.Knockwood73 » Sat Feb 24, 2024 1:32 pm
I’d rather have Jacobs since we’re going back to a WC style of offense but it’ll be all about the FA pickups we get and their contracts. There are some good ones in this draft like that kid from Kentucky Ray Davis.Jeevo » Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:44 pm
Not sure on that, some teammates, and his HC, have publicly supported him.rich72 wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 3:45 pm:I dont want JJ back on the team, his attitude has been bordering on detrimental ever since his 5th year option wasnt picked up.

AP has spoken highly of him and if some team doesn't offer him a sky-high contract he will stay with the Raiders. We have a GM who will be able to assess his real value and offer him an appropriate deal.Dr Death wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 1:37 pm:If Josh wants to leave, I'm fine with it. He's jus a RB. He's a better than average one, no doubt but.... still just RB. They can be had for a dime a dozen.

I think he's an accomplished back too. So what? He's a RB...he's expendable. There are numerable RB's out there to be had. I would prefer he would want to be a Raider. If he doesn't....I'm fine with it.silver_ghost wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:47 pm:AP has spoken highly of him and if some team doesn't offer him a sky-high contract he will stay with the Raiders.
