To be honest i've been going this route, using my ipad and mirroring to my roku tv. Every now and then it get's a little glitchy or i have to restart the stream but over all not bad and if the game is just terrible i don't worry about it as much.352Raider wrote Wed Feb 28, 2024 7:29 am:StreamEast is your friend

Yeah, I've been dicking around with those streaming sites for a few years now. Raiders been so bad I wasn't going to pay up to watch the trash on the field.16 to 88 » Fri Mar 01, 2024 11:16 pm

Thought about it last season, but with the new regime in place going to cave and pay the extortion cash this season.

Yeah, I love the letter I received from amazon about them having commercials now on prime. It said something to the effect that the goal was to have less then network tv what ever number "less" is. From what I gather from the times I have now used my prime video it's 1 or 2 less in an hour. Strike up the band!BigJerk wrote Sat Mar 02, 2024 11:57 am:HA!

Interesting. I'm a Prime member because of the shipping - I live in a small town where online shopping is pretty much mandatory because so little is available locally - and so I always have prime video. But I haven't watched since the ads started because I joined Netflix for a month to binge some shows on that. I have the Netflix with ads because it's so much cheaper and I've been shocked by how few ads there are - usually under a minute of ads per hour. That might be different in Canada than the US though, as they likely sell ad content by country. Maybe Prime is better for that in Canada too.16 to 88 wrote Sat Mar 02, 2024 6:28 pm:Yeah, I love the letter I received from amazon about them having commercials now on prime. Then the letter went onto state the reason for now having commercials is that it allows them to "invest in future compelling content". What a load of garbage. What? They don't make enough money? Greed, one of the seven deadly sins.

Not to go on a rant about Prime but it used to be a fairly good deal, now with an increase every year it was getting a bit iffy, now they have added commercials to their shows and movies and if you don't want them it's again another 10 bucks a month, it's really starting to defeat the purpose because Jeff's yacht isn't big enough.Sold My Soul » Thu Mar 07, 2024 9:22 pm

I don't watch a whole lot of Television but the last two movies I watched I want to say every 20 minutes I got 3 consecutive 2:00 minute ads with the timer displaying how much time was left. The next time I watch a movie I will be sure to get a correct count.chucker wrote Wed Mar 06, 2024 6:57 am:Interesting. Interesting that there's that much advertising in the US on streaming services. There's a tiny fraction of that in Canada, but I'm sure more will come after they've had more time to sell the ad space. For now I'll enjoy it being less. Prime is only $3 more for the ad-free version so I think that could be an option if the ads become overwhelming. The price difference on Netflix is way bigger for ad free, but I don't have that service more than about a month a year.16 to 88 wrote Fri Mar 08, 2024 12:21 am:I don't watch a whole lot of Television but the last two movies I watched I want to say every 20 minutes I got 3 consecutive 2:00 minute ads with the timer displaying how much time was left. In the end I was already paying to watch prime where regular TV you are not. They shouldn't have ads at all! Now, in big corporate's lust for greed, avarice, power and their constant hunger to change what they don't like, and charge by whatever means, they forge ahead and screw the little guy because of their deranged and convoluted mindset that they, regrettable, do not care to change in themselves.
Said means in this case is hatching a plan and concocting a letter with a word salad that perhaps they believe was a study in depth of a gentleman from the academe at a lectern delivering a most scholarly treatise. But in reality it was more like that of a fruit salad from a scientific failure. There "explanation" is syntax at it's worst and transparent as a freshly cleaned window on a summer day. Amazon, Google, NFL, Facebook, Disney, Mainstream Media, the list goes on and on and on all seem to be cut from the same filthy cloth. Disgusting.

I keep Netflix so my aged mom can enjoy it without the added expense. I rarely watch it myself. Prime video has ads but I actually don't have a problem with it. Sure, Bezos is rich as fuck and I am lining his pockets, but I view the ads as paying for the employees and frankly those drivers work hard and are scrutinized a bunch so get them their money.chucker wrote Fri Mar 08, 2024 5:56 am:Interesting that there's that much advertising in the US on streaming services.
