And who's on the competition committee? Oh! Mike Tomlin is. It's... It's almost as if as they were crafting this rule that he had personal intel on it and gave advanced knowledge to his team, the steelers, about it.The rule will likely boost the frequency of kickoff returns. The Steelers seem to think it will, since within hours of the rule’s passing, they signed four-time All-Pro return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson to a two-year, $6 million deal.

Wednesday games seems like a big Fuck you to players health & safety. ... Are the teams going to have a Bye the week before or after?Xramfan wrote Fri Apr 05, 2024 3:40 pm:Cant say I am a fan of games on Christmas Day

If they seriously gave a shit about the health, safety and players in general they'd get rid of the Thursday games. The players have complained about them since I can remember. They'd also get rid of turf. While they do a much better job regarding concussions, they pretty much just say fuck you to all the other thingsBigJerk wrote Sat Apr 06, 2024 10:39 am:Wednesday games seems like a big Fuck you to players health & safety. ... Away team is going to be at a huge disadvantage.

I believe they said that the teams playing on a Wednesday will have a Saturday game prior, so they get the same turnaround as a team with a Sunday-Thursday setup.BigJerk wrote Sat Apr 06, 2024 10:39 am:Wednesday games seems like a big Fuck you to players health & safety. ... Without looking it up pretty sure it's a disadvantage to the team that has to travel on a Thursday and now a Wednesday night much like it is to teams that have to go on the road after a Monday night game.Hellbound wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 8:47 am:If they seriously gave a shit about the health, safety and players in general they'd get rid of the Thursday games. So I looked up Thursday night games to see who has the advantage and wins the majority of the time. No surprise and sure enough it's the home team.srv5490 » Sun Apr 07, 2024 11:50 pm
Those figures are fairly in line with the home field advantage for all games.16 to 88 wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 11:28 pm:So I looked up Thursday night games to see who has the advantage and wins the majority of the time. No surprise and sure enough it's the home team.
209 Thursday night games from 2006-2023 have been played.
125 times the home team won.
84 times the visiting team won.

Do you have the numbers of the "fairly in line"? If I were to guess, and it's just speculation without numbers, I would guess these numbers are about the same with being on the road after a Monday night.srv5490 wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 11:50 pm:Those figures are fairly in line with the home field advantage for all games.

but what was the corresponding spread, how often did the home team beat or meet the spread? In a bubble, it says the team that traveled got screwed, but I would be curious about the spread. Usually, the home team gets an extra 3 points for playing at home. I would also be curious to see how many of those 84 games were decided by three or fewer points.16 to 88 wrote Sun Apr 07, 2024 11:28 pm:So I looked up Thursday night games to see who has the advantage and wins the majority of the time. Hey, I just work here. When I hear multiple coaches talk about the disadvantage of going on the road after a short week I figure there has to be something to it?
