Hopefully Rogers will convince them to go overboard and the Raiders get their 1st this year and next.BoKnows81 » Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:22 am
Can't be unrealistic though. No team will give up two 1sts for a 31 year old WR, esp when one of them is a top 10 pick.Dr Death wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:58 am:If they are serious about moving up in the draft to take one of the big 3, the price needs to be "too high" in order to recoup what they will need to give up to do so.

Everyone has a price.Dr Death » Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:42 am
At the same time.... can't be too unrealistic about the cost of moving up. Davante can help a team that is one player away from going to the show. How bad do they want it? The other teams are asking for the moon to move up. F*** them.... we can ask the moon for the best WR in the game.BoKnows81 wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:22 am:Can't be unrealistic though. The Raiders gave up a first and second round pick for Adams. Not sure how he is now worth 2 first round picks. Sounds merely like the organization is simply positioning themselves for negotiations. And anyone who has negotiated knows you do not begin with the actual number you are willing to sell for, but with an inflated number hoping that through the process of negotiations you can manage to get the other party to eventually offer that which you are willing to sell for.BoKnows81 » Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:59 am
Apples to oranges. Teams overpay to move up every year, mostly for the chance to acquire a franchise QB. Being unrealistic in trade compensation for an aging WR is poor management of a franchise. My point, nobody is giving two 1sts for Adams.Dr Death wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:42 am:At the same time.... can't be too unrealistic about the cost of moving up. You never open with your best offer, but opening with an unrealistic one can be counterproductive, They don’t look serious at two firsts, and teams who may have had some interest may not even engage. Of course maybe they’re not really serious about moving him.NoClapsPlease » Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:16 am
You can when you’re not interested.Jeevo wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:12 am:You never open with your best offer, but opening with an unrealistic one can be counterproductive, They don’t look serious at two firsts, and teams who may have had some interest may not even engage. Any team serious about acquiring him will still engage. It might scare off those that are only slightly interested but those actually interested will still engage to see how much they can move the needle.Jeevo wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:12 am:You never open with your best offer, but opening with an unrealistic one can be counterproductive, They don’t look serious at two firsts, and teams who may have had some interest may not even engage. But they need to be interested. That's the point. If a team comes to them and offers a 1st & 2nd and the Raiders turn them down, that is poor management. Esp when we paid that a couple years ago.NoClapsPlease wrote Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:16 am:You can when you’re not interested.
