And I ain’t God I don’t owe anyone shit. The Raiders owe us all and themselves the chance to win.

And Stork you probably cheered when Carr got hurt so id expect that stupid ass response from you but not Kinz, besides FOH stop trolling this thread, or are you too objective to stick to the topic? Injuries haven’t hurt us... lmao, I can’t even.
Yes injuries have hurt us just like they hurt every other team. They have just hurt us less than other teams. You seem to be looking at things emotionally/subjectively rather than logically/objectively.

I don't know if I would suggest injuries haven't hurt the Raiders. They had young guy's that were supposed to contribute early, and they were sidelined which did have some impact that affected their overall depth.

He never liked Carr, so of course losing our MVP candidate during a championship run means injuries hurt us less or whatever...lol. That one injury alone makes this entire conversation moot. Besides I wouldn’t take the bait, dude is trolling. Hard. I already reported it, which I haven’t done in years. Mods can feel free to delete all these off topic posts including mine. Start a poll talking about how lucky we’ve been with injuries see if these two aren’t the only votes. Lol, like I said a waste of time.

I remember the walking boot years. Now when I see a Raiders player in a walking boot it immediately feels like their season is over regardless of the prognostication.

Public opinion doesn't dictate reality. Injuries impact win totals. And I have always been a Carr fan. I just look at things objectively and point out shortcomings. I was pretty spot on with Carr. When he stopped doing the things I pointed out, he became and MVP candidate. When he engaged in the bad habits again, he regressed.

True but in reality, this team has to stop living in the past. Even us as fans, I understand past behavior is best predictor of future behavior, but when it comes to the sum of our parts we’re entering uncharted territory. Confidence can carry a team thru injuries, like the eagles last year, but it takes an unshakeable belief in the outcome going in your favor. Now I’m not saying fans have to share that view, but I definitely didn’t start this thread to cry about the past.

I chalk up his regression to Downing and his fucked up offensive philosophy and it had a negative on the entire offense so we'll see what happens under Gruden. Downing was too fucking conservative for his own good.

All injuries impact teams and hurt depth. the fewer injuries, the less a team is hurt. Like I said, our core of players has been remarkably healthy over the past 3 years or so. There have only been a few misses by our core players. Seems to me that it was much less than most other teams. I was trying to find data but the only site that tracks it charges $300 per year.

Remaining healthy will help our win total.

I certainly get that, however when your QB goes down for any length of time and is playing timid due to those injuries it will affect the outcome of games.

Carr also regressed with his mechanics. he will need to correct that if we are going to win football games.

It sure will. Carr needs to fix the issues that plagued him (outside Downing) for us to improve.

Injuries will impact this upcoming NFL season as it does every year. And while coaches will never use it as an excuse, injuries will impact a few teams negatively this upcoming season. That said, this offseason it seems to me that Gruden has placed a high value on acquiring depth. Raider were far from the worst team in football last year but don't think any organization was busier this offseason attempting to add depth throughout the roster. I think the Raiders are better prepared for the ugly reality of injuries this upcoming season than they were last year.

On a side note, since this is a prediction thread - I think the Chargers and Raiders will be the two teams in the West that will be making a run at the West title. While it is still VERY early - just think the Chiefs (rookie QB and lost leadership on defense) take a step back and the Broncos who may improve a bit but will still be looking for better QB play to get to the next level. But think the Chargers are primed to kick some ass this year and also think that Gruden's version of the Raiders will surprise many.

I also attribute that to more pressure than he had the previous year. The OL just didn't seem in sync.

On the injuries front I think we have generally got off lightly in the last few years - none of our major players have got injured at the beginning or even pre-season only at the tail end e.g. Carr and Penn, people like Irvin and Mack have avoided the injury bug - I am probably speaking too soon on this.

Having said all that - with the coaching as bad as it was last year especially on D until Pagano got his hands on the reins - I see us going 9-7 or 10-6.
