What do you think? I see the Raiders going 11 -5. That said, the division is no cake walk and the Raiders will travel more than any other team in 2018 which can sadly be a factor.Raiders Baby » Thu Jun 07, 2018 7:01 am
I tend to be a glass half full kinda guy, so I definitely think it's possible. I think over the last two years the team has showed what it is: definitely has some talent that can be dangerous if it gets hot (2016), but needs strong coaching and improved depth or it can fall off the rails quick (2017). I think the roster turnover has mostly been positive-- I wish we had brought Bowman back, and King is an excellent Punter regardless of antics-- but I think overall the roster is improved, both from a talent and chemistry perspective. The question of playoffs comes down to coaching for me. If Gruden comes in hot we could easily be this year's Cinderella story, but if it takes him time to re-acclimate it could be an up and down ride. Time will tell on that one.Raidernation1979 » Thu Jun 07, 2018 7:11 am
Playoffs every year is the expectation. This team is beyond talented enough to do it. Every NFL team has weaknesses like we do. Coaching which was proved last year will make the difference.HITMAN » Thu Jun 07, 2018 7:12 am
I think the talent is there, last season was the exception not the rule, and with a real staff we should see a lot more consistency. I expect them to be in the thick of things going forward.r8rfox » Thu Jun 07, 2018 7:49 am
Totally within reason, imo. I think the coaching is light years ahead of where it was last year. To add to that, our talent level is much better as well. Sounds like ingredients for success. We won't know until the real bullets start flying...Avon Barksdale » Thu Jun 07, 2018 9:10 am
With all the distractions last season, Carr being hurt and being outcoached in pretty much every game the team still managed to win 6 games. Combine us getting better talent wise at basically every position along with better coaching and a easy schedule as of now, I see no reason why Gruden cant get them to 10-6 and a playoff berth.signal wrote Thu Jun 07, 2018 6:31 am:What do you think? 5 Reasons Why the Raiders make the Playoffs: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... l-playoffs
Article does provides links to each AFC West opponent and reasons why they may also make the playoffs. If anything, I think the AFC West will be highly competitive and promises to produce some outstanding games. Just think the Raiders will make that late season push while the Chargers fail due to their perennial bad luck when it matters most.

Sure, why not? I think the offense returns to a top 10 unit and how can the defense not be better? We have better personnel and an honest to goodness real DC in Guenther. I'm saying we win the division at 11-5.GUYDON » Thu Jun 07, 2018 2:12 pm
With the roster the way it is, the secondary should be much tightwr, the offense will ne impossible to stop at times, the staff we have... I think the playoffs WILL happen. Depends on how fast they can work rhe kinks out to how far we can goXramfan » Thu Jun 07, 2018 3:12 pm
How well the Raiders do or not do will be determined by 3 things:AutumnWind32 » Thu Jun 07, 2018 6:30 pm

We split games with KC & Denver last year & evem though the Chargers beat us twice they barely beat an awful team so it’s a lot closer than some seem to think as this team has gotten better talent & coaching wise so the divison is well within our grasp.
