ya, and JaWalrus didn't do well either, horrible McKenzie pick. In the other hand, Reggie landing Plunkett and Marcus Allen were huge.

They were both shitty picks, but at least DHB is still in the league.... yes on special teams the last few years.... after 9 seasons.

After 4 years DJ Hayden is a BACKUP in Detroit and he's still getting burnt to a crisp. I can't see this clown lasting another year.

Compare Al's 40-something years of drafting and he STILL doesn't have as many 1st/2nd Round BUSTS as Reggie has in just 6 years.

What a fucking moron.
I think it is roughly whether players have been able to play in the league. There are lots of players on that list who aren't all pros but that that doesn't mean they are busts. the list is basically players who can't play in the league vs. can't play in the league. He didn't take into consideration draft position.

DHB is a backup in Pittsburgh. I really don't see much difference in their career paths. Both are good enough to play in the NFL but neither is worthy of a first round pick. You seem to be all over the place and seem to lack logical consistency so I am not really sure what point you are trying to make.

Lol.....ohhh I'm sure you can find alot of first round busts. Not only with Al but every other GM too.

Huff, Gibson, McClain, DHB, Jamarcus just off the top of my head

It's the draft, people.

The NFL is littered with the dead-body's of "sure fire", "can't miss", former "college greats" that were drafted.

I care about the draft once the season starts.

Both were straddled with shit development situations. I envy no one that is drafted with Dennis Allen or Lane Kiffin as their head coaches or Jamarcus Russell as their QB. I mean seriously, no one.

Some of you are like crazy parents though, the kids are suffering in the middle because of your hate for some GM. Y’all gotta check yourselves.

Maybe it's the cool aid talking but this years draft feels different. Heaven, I even feel good about the 7th round wide out we selected. Cant say as much for his past drafts. I dont think he's picked anyone of value after found 3; ever. You'd think he might find a starter or two as bad as our roster was...

I did this math on this site or another.
Every pick from the Raiders, Donks, KC, SD and the Pats.
It was total picks over the last 6year vs how many were starters, how many were back ups and how many were out of the NFL.

It was pretty close.

Personally I dont put it all on reggie. I'm sure the draft boards had the input and collaboration of the coaches at that time. So who knows what pick was whos.

And I'm not buying the, "our coaches couldn't develop" theory. Plenty of our draft picks have left to other teams and i haven't read any of them went on to have stellar careers with other teams.

Excerpt from article:

Paul Gutierrez, Oakland Raiders reporter: To say someone is on a hot seat is to infer their job in in trouble, right? Well, Jon Gruden, who just signed a 10-year contract worth a reported $100 million to coach the Raiders, has all the job security in the world. Same goes for Broncos czar John Elway, who is essentially his own boss and isn't about to fire himself, despite having a hard time finding a quarterback post-Peyton Manning. And still, the lights will be brightest on "Chucky" as Gruden returns to the sidelines for the first time since 2008. Critics say the game has passed him by. Supporters say he is uniquely qualified, given all the film work and access he had in nine years working the booth for ESPN's Monday Night Football. The answer is somewhere in the middle. And hey, with all that job security, perhaps it is Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie's seat warming up, a year after he was the NFL executive of the year. Wacky times in the streets of Silver and Blackdom.

Davis was in charge essentially 48 years and if you don't think he had some 1st round busts over that period of time compared to the 6 McKenzie has been GM, you haven't been a fan of this franchise for an extended length of time. He's had several that could be considered busts, go back and look at the years from late 80's to late 90's... you'll find a lot of them
