My point is that Mack is not a marginal player this gives him leverage to hold out because the team is not going to cut him or trade him similar to a player (like Alexander) they can easily replace.Radman wrote Sun Aug 12, 2018 7:04 pm:At what point have I ever said I didn’t want Mack?
And no, he doesn’t have leverage. His situation is nothing like Vadal’s. Vandal was cut because he was a marginal player. Mack is not cut because he has skill and the team has no desire to lose his services. However, the Raiders have ALL the leverage unless Mack is willing to miss regular season games but even that hurts him likely more than it helps him. The Raiders have the 5th year option plus a couple of franchise tags before Mack has any real leverage.

Interesting breakdown of Mack situation...read entire thread https://twitter.com/pillagejust4fun/sta ... 15746?s=19chucker » Mon Aug 13, 2018 5:10 pm
I don't think this guy knows what he's talking about. He keeps talking about the "owner" like it's coming out of Mark's pocket. The team will have operating funds and nothing they've done would indicate that they can't afford some more cash this season - don't forget that they already have to pay Mack $14 million in cash this year so it's not all "new" money. There are also plenty of other ways to guarantee money other than a signing bonus.eLX_38 wrote Mon Aug 13, 2018 4:56 pm:Interesting breakdown of Mack situation...read entire thread https://twitter.com/pillagejust4fun/sta ... 15746?s=19

Sorry, wrong tweeter. This is more of how the money breakdown could work. Yeah, no way Mark is paying .01 of his own money. https://twitter.com/holistic_pickle/sta ... 63905?s=19chucker wrote Mon Aug 13, 2018 5:10 pm:I don't think this guy knows what he's talking about. This idea that Mark basically can't get the money is garbage. He owns a controlling share of a 2+ billion dollar asset and a wall of cash flow is coming at him soon. Bankers love shmoozing with sports celebs and the chance of default is zero.chucker wrote Mon Aug 13, 2018 5:10 pm:I don't think this guy knows what he's talking about. I don't know if people are paying attention, but TB already laid down the word. Mack will be suited up to kill QB's by week 1. That's all I fucking care about. The $$ isn't mine nor yours. Don't sweat the small stuff. Get to popcorn ready. This pass rush is going to be absolutely stupid with the likes of Mack, Irvin, Hurst, Key and Hall!! Gonna love this shit!!Jeevo » Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:06 pm

I am liking the idea of a trade more and more. I think he will probably stay with his current contract but if he fails to report, time to see what we can get for him. Over the next 3 years, at his current contract, it makes sense to keep him. After that, the extra picks of a draft would be superior. I guess the question is whether or not we are in a position to make the Super Bowl the next 3 seasons. If not, it is probably best to trade him to make a later run. I am OK with either scenerio. I just hope we don't sign him to a long term deal. that would be the worst move and could be a disaster. JMO.Ivanavich wrote Mon Aug 13, 2018 1:28 am:via packerswire:
