I think you can pick a QB vet up on the cheap to play next year or two....provide more room under the cap to build the team and trade Carr for a first and then pick up a QB in the draft. Raiders are going nowhere next season...so, in my mind, think they should be in rebuild mode next season as opposed to retool. Given how the retool went this year (a complete fucking meltdown) - hoping the Raiders make some fundamental organizational changes and go full on to rebuild the team and not attempt once again to retool with the organizational situation in place. If they simply attempt to retool again with Gruden calling the shots.....this may be only the beginning of an era of shit.kinz wrote Fri Dec 07, 2018 3:10 pm:Only place where we differ Rain is about the balls part. I don't think he has them either, but I think a big part of it is his knowing he doesn't have the accuracy to have a pair. If his accuracy improved a lot, I think you would see him going deep more. But even with that, I doubt he ever is good enough to win a SB unless the surrounding team is great.
But let's get real, we will be lucky to ever get to the playoffs with Mark and Jonny running the show, and having Carr's problems fixed after 5 years sounds implausible. What we are really talking about is whether to run with Carr next year or ruin some other QB.

Not in the AFC West. We now have Rivers and Mahomes to contend with.TheWiz76 wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 12:10 am:I feel ya. But we don't even need great. Tony romo good will do imo

So yet another Carr thread. Seems they are allowed so long as they are pro Carr.Chiefhater » Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:08 pm
If Gruden trades Carr and drafts a QB, I'm all for it. But that's a big fucking "if".CarrKnight » Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:09 pm

Our opinions don't matter very much at all.

It may be true that Gruden STILL thinks he can fix Carr. Maybe not.Chiefhater wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:08 pm:If Gruden trades Carr and drafts a QB, I'm all for it. But that's a big fucking "if".

Of course I don't think people think that have any say so in the teams decisions. They just act like they do.signal wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:35 pm:It may be true that Gruden STILL thinks he can fix Carr. Maybe not.
But the second statement...??? Do you actually think that people on this board think their opinions matter when it comes to what direction the organization goes in?
We all know and are fully aware - whether you agree or not with the opinions stated - that we are posting on this board to discuss with other fans - their take on everything Raiders. I mean what is your point? Those who post anything contrary to your point of view live in a delusional place where they think by posting on these boards - they actually have input as to what direction the team goes in? I mean, why even go about making the point?

what do you think of Kyler Murray if he chooses football over baseball?Evil Empire wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 1:40 pm:So yet another Carr thread. Seems they are allowed so long as they are pro Carr.
For anyone saying avoid Haskins because he only played one year, that was the mantra about Mitch Trubisky, yet the Bears were smart enough not to go by what masquerades as conventional wisdom. The only reason Haskins didn't start is because there was an upperclassmen on the team that happened to be the greatest QB in school history and it would have been damaging to sit him as a senior facing national championship aspirations. Haskins is on another planet as Barrett.
For people trying to lead the charge to keep Carr and hope, your hot going to get it until Denver ducks around and drafts Haskins or Herbert and then we have three stud QBs in our division. It's in our best interest to move forward with improving the TALENT on all fronts, a process which has begun. D.C. is far from an elite talent. On top of that, he doesn't possess elite intangibles, in fact, he is as a deficit. You have to coax him to do things that are innate for top tier QBs and he has too much to unlearn.
If Gruden is smart, he teaches him what he can, builds his stock up from bottom feeder and trades him for a first. We are TOO FAR AWAY to expect to turn into a contender after two years.

Well, not so long ago EE crashed into air on radio, bashing Carr and almost trash-talking about Raiders QB with a lot of arrogance and self-confidence. Speaking for the whole RN like that MAY influence some fan-oriented decisions by the team.Chiefhater wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 3:11 pm:Of course I don't think people think that have any say so in the teams decisions. You see comments like, "I'll give Carr until the end of the season." And shit like that. It's comical.
Chiefhater » Sat Dec 08, 2018 4:12 pm
Yeah that's why I said our opinions don't matter very much instead of they don't matter at all. Eventually the team will feel the heat, like I think Carr did recently.Ghoul wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 4:03 pm:Well, not so long ago EE crashed into air on radio, bashing Carr and almost trash-talking about Raiders QB with a lot of arrogance and self-confidence. Plus, here and there some provocations are constantly heard, like boycott the Raiders games, "it's your fans' fault that Chucky&Cart are tearing this franchise apart, quickly, the sky is falling". Or milder sort of that, like CC Sabathia on GMF: "I'm a raiders fan but I don't watch em dis year, its disgusting".
If we want zebras and medias to be at least neutral to us (and I feel like these things are connected), we should not allow that. We should be more loyal.
Rainman56 » Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:16 pm
At this point even if the QB talent pool is weaker maybe draft one...What's the difference in basically trying to teach Carr to play QB or a rookie who would be far cheaper with likely more upside if he has any amount of moxy??? Only reason not to do it would be if Gruden thinks he can "fix" Carr as some say...Teach a 28 year old rookie who still has the same issues as in college or start fresh and hope for the best...Not like we are going to be a legit threat to anyone in the very near future anyway.Chiefhater wrote Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:08 pm:If Gruden trades Carr and drafts a QB, I'm all for it.
