CJ Anderson was a Raider for less than a week but was complimentary about Jon. I like the signing before the fact but glad he is on a Superbowl team and not the donks. It is a nice read imo.

I really enjoyed the read.

They bought in out there, almost the whole team, and really outplayed their talent level to end the year. The seniors had a blast with him too.

We have some holes, but we can plug a good amount for sure. 4-12 will likely be our worst record under him, and I think we lucked out getting him.

Next year will be tough, but you don't forge steel with water. Every rookie he brought in has zero quit, that will be a big part of every draft from here out.

I usually don't follow this type of article but love the read. It restored some faith I have with Gruden.

I can see some reasons to be hopeful for Gruden, but he was flat out bad in managing the team last year, and just okay as a coach. He strong suit is working with players for sure, and that is a real positive. But I'm a long way from sold that bringing him in was the best way for us to go.

Hopefully he does a lot less managing and a lot more coaching. This was the move in and move on year, and we did not have a ton of cap to start with.

He rolled the dice, good, keep doing it. This year, we have maybe three times the cap to work with (after cuts), and three extra first round picks coming up as well (plus a saved 40 million worth of FA). To me, 4-12 with maybe 5-8 guys playing above league average, some just barely, it was actually impressive.

I am not saying we see .500 next year, but if we get the QB situation resolved, I doubt we see less than .500 for the next several years following. This new core of all out players, plus all those FA's and two Mayock drafts including 5 first rounders, the chance of us greatly improving our talent level is basically guaranteed.

I saw enough to feel pretty damn good about it. The last quarter of the year is the team I am looking at only.

I will add this, Guenther's D handled KC's misdirection better than the Colts. That is how you beat Reid, I like Pauly G too.

I missed the part of him leaving, then next thing I know he's in the super bowl...

Anderson landed in a perfect situation. I know fans want to bad mouth Gruden for releasing him but let's keep it real he wouldn't have had those holes with our weak run blocking.

I sure hope Anderson is right because another season like 2018 is going to try a lot of people’s patience. 2019 is be my 50th season as a fan and I could use at least a .500 year. So much will depend on Carr not playing scared and also getting a pass rush. It can be done.

I see it this way ---

We purged the team. Gruden oversaw getting pretty much nothing in the draft or FA last year. He made weird choices with not playing our younger players until later in the year. This is all bad, real bad.

Mayock was hired.

Now the hope is Mayock has a great eye for talent, Gruden will listen, and we will get lots from the draft and FA. It could happen. But there is zero track record for any of this.

This draft and FA will tell the tale of this franchise for the next half dozen years.

What makes me mad is they bad mouthed the Raiders for letting him go. I saw it on the last playoff game and I heard it yesterday on the radio. He was on our team for 6 days, it’s not like we worked with him all year and let him go. Other teams had just as many shots at him, I hate that the media always takes shots. I’m used to it, just getting old.

I think that's why Mayock was brought on board to oversee all the administrative side of the football operations so JG can focus on the actual job of coaching players.

Well he is going to be looking for work in the offseason so of course he’s not going to burn any bridges.

We have heard this stuff way too many times before... nothing about Gruden this year said he knew what he was doing.
