It’s killing my Fantasy team, but I have noticed Carr is no longer dependent on Waller.

The fact that Carr is reaching out to other receivers and TE’s besides Waller is really key. Many times in cover two, Carr would just wait for Cook and then Waller over the middle to get open or take a sack or throw it away.

Now, Carr is looking elsewhere and throwing ropes like the one he did to Ateman and the ones Carrier or Moreau.

He is stepping up and talking shots downfield and not just depending on Waller.

My fantasy team had suffered, but I love that Carr is recognizing the spy on the Tampa 2 and letting Waller draw 2 and checking down.

Such a huge difference from his tunnel vision.

Defenses have started to really key in on Waller, and now the other players around him are stepping up. I would expect him to start putting up bigger numbers again soon as the adjustments continue to happen. It may not be as high as earlier in the season, but probably more than recent weeks.

And yes its great to see Carr being able to operate while is top option is covered. Although it is very helpful that the offensive line gives him the cleanest of pockets most of the time.

Yeah they're keying on Waller but Carr has so much time in the pocket these days, finding an open receiver should not be much of an issue. Also, Gruden points in the clip below how Carr has become a "coach on the field" now recognizing defenses, leading the rookies, and extending plays.

Careful, the article quotes Gruden as complimenting Carr's intelligence. There's a couple of posters that may not be able to handle that lol!

It seems obvious Carr is getting confidence as he gets more comfortable with the system. I'd argue it also comes as he gets confidence in the players around him and their comfort level with the system as well. He's built/building a rapport with Waller, Moreau, Renfrow, and Williams. Hopefully Davis and Jones can be added to that list soon too. Oh, and Richard. He clearly trusts Richard.

Gruden talked about this with the press yesterday. He said Waller is starting to get double coverages so other players have to profit of the extra space. He said every NFL team tries to take out the first option and force the opposition to play "left handed" and the Raiders "left handers" are Renfrow and the running backs participating more in the passing game.

Waiting for Stork's comment that Carr isn't a cerebral QB, are you?

Waller getting double teamed only helps out everyone else. He still had two great catches on Sunday. Key catches in drives where we put up points.

Richard and Carr have been together the longest that's why. Richard was on the 2016 team and has great on field rapport with Carr and feel for Carr's passing game. That's probably one of the reasons Richard has nor been dealt or cut even with his fumble issues the prior two seasons.

And Richard is on Carr's fantasy team.
