Good post. I mostly agree. Gruden deserves credit for expanding Carr’s knowledge of the game and increasing his confidence. His playcalling, though, clearly held him back. No longer..,danchase45 wrote Sun Oct 24, 2021 2:34 pm:Gruden created this Carr. Gruden's play calling was too complex and was predictability conservative. Gruden also created a Carr that is a leader. We are doing this with one of the worse Oline's in football. It is amazing to see Carr's confidence and leadership. He is a different person and never would have progressed like this without Gruden. However, Gruden has been holding him back the last year with play calling.

To me theres not much to complain about right now, we're in first place in the AFC west, and Carr is having a strong season.CWood24 wrote Sun Oct 24, 2021 11:13 pm:You're missing the point but as a Carr stan you always do, the same people who are all loved up & are moving in with Carr do nothing but throw shade at every other player good or bad
I’ve already seen the D criticised multiple times so far even though it has been the D that has turned up every game & if you had actually read what i said then you would have seen i gave him his props but explain why we can’t talk about his failures
The same Carr that played well today shit the bed against the Bears & the Chargers but got no blame by you guys until we make the playoffs he is a failure for this franchise
Like i said no matter how he play you might as well call this the Carr love in thread

Don’t cheat yourself and wait until March ‘22, while googling stats, to realize Carr is having a great season.Raiders Baby » Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:18 am
I agree that picking on Carr for his INT is nitpicking— he played a fantastic game of football yesterday, and truthfully he’s been balling all season. If Carr keeps playing at this level, and the D keeps playing well, and the OL has finally gelled, we could be a tough out for any team in the league.sooperkool wrote Sun Oct 24, 2021 9:46 pm:Everyone in here is basking in the glow of a great performance from our QB today. We're leading the division and going into a bye week. I mean a solid win and a historic performance today with one of the highest completion percentages ever recorded in a game and here you come with some, "yeah but, what about his pick in the 1st quarter".
Do you not see how petty you sound?
No one expects the man to be perfect, but goddamn, you would think today would be a day without nitpicking.

Derek Carr has the 7th lowest INT percentage in NFL history.sooperkool » Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:40 am
Not only that but it was LITERALLY his only incompletion for the first half and the majority of the game.Black Sunshine wrote Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:29 am:Derek Carr has the 7th lowest INT percentage in NFL history.
I think that going at him for a single pick in an otherwise almost flawless game is just a tad bit ridiculous.

I imagine some people are in too deep with hating on Carr so they have to keep up appearances or something.

Looking back to Carr's rookie season there have been lots of doubters, some of whom (depending on each game's outcome) jump on and off the bandwagon.Raiders Baby wrote Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:18 am: I’m enjoying my Carr Koolaid more than some of the other Doubters apparently. But people have a right to discuss it, and if not here then where?

Even the all time greats have thrown a few bad passes.sooperkool » Mon Oct 25, 2021 9:41 am
I forgot to mention that Carr did all of that against a solid defensive team. Thee Eagles were 6th in yards per pass in 6.7 and 5th in total yards per game with 211.8rock lobster » Mon Oct 25, 2021 10:11 am
