Denver clearly won this trade, but the Seahawks got the 9th pick in the first and second round this year from Denver, those are far from a late 1st and a late 2ndlive.B.A.raida wrote Tue Mar 08, 2022 1:35 pm:People saying Denver got taken to the cleaners are delusional. Giving up 2 late 1sts, 2 late 2nd and some scrub players is too much for a HOF QB with plenty left in the tank? Lol wait, these are the same people that are good with Carr… go figure

The Rams were actually making the playoffs even with Goff struggling while the Broncos have finished last in the AFC West the last two seasons and have lost 13 straight games vs the Chiefs. QB play is only part of their struggles. The Broncos roster isn’t nearly as good as some think it is and Hackett is not Sean McVay. In fact we don’t even know if he’s a good head coach. This trade should definitely make the Broncos more competitive but the reality is that this trade moves them out of the basement and into the mix of the Raiders and Chargers who are all still chasing the Chiefs.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 12:59 am:Yep, it’s not like the Broncos are the Rams with a missing piece to the SB. And God forbid Wilson goes down in the next two years. Seahawks will be having a top five pick in the 1st and 2nd round. Juedy is no Cooper Kupp and there’s no one near Aaron Donald or Ramsey on the donks. They fooked themselves.

The guy you want to extend is two years younger and has never been as good. There is little to no reason to think Wilson doesn't have a solid five years of high level play in the tank and the entire premise that he is fading is based on a sample of one down year where he tossed 26 touch downs against 6 picks behind arguably as bad or worse a line as we did in a run first offense with no back where he busted his hand and missed three games and was obviously impacted for at least two or three others surrounding when he missed and came back quicker than the time frame because he is tough as nails.Ivanavich wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 3:41 am:https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/denv ... en-family/
Broncos will sell for more money if they trade for a big name vet QB.
And this is the reason that they traded for Wilson. Broncos ownership couldn't care less about winning games.
Wilson is past his prime and not the same QB who won a Super Bowl. The Broncos team got blownout last season by a Raiders team with a crappy defense and impotent offense. This trade was stupid and will sink the Broncos for the next decade.
Wilson is the false hope that some Raiders fans want. False hope won't win Super Bowls.
Really dumb trade by the Broncos. Seahawks got all that they could get for an old QB. The 3 Broncos players involved... only the QB Lock has any value. The other 2 players are role players who don't win games.
I would have been interested in Lock as a back up QB. He's better than Mariota or Bridgewater.
Raiders fans can relax and enjoy watching the Broncos lose games with another old QB. THE PEYTON > Wilson. Not comparable. Imagine, from Wilson's perspective, wanting to go to the Broncos in a division which already had 3 established QBs.
Somebody needs to give Wilson a psych exam. The guy must be nuts!!!

Honestly, there is nothing clear about it. I have not seen a lot of outlets grading it, but the trove of picks Denver gave up can be back breaking and cause a lot of overpaying in Free Agency. Sporting News says Denver lost this trade by a country mile. There may be counterpoints, but at least this displays nothing is "clear".Officerrob wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:40 am: Denver clearly won this trade, but the Seahawks got the 9th pick in the first and second round this year from Denver, those are far from a late 1st and a late 2nd

It’s like the Mack trade. Looked pretty good getting the two first round picks with the first netting Jacobs but not so good after lighting gasoline to the 2nd first rounder with Arnette. Seattle needs to nail the majority of these draft picks they have attained for them to win this trade so time will tell.Oaktown Superman » Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:27 am

Exactly. We will have to wait to see who came out better. Denver made their team better but I don't see them as a powerhouse suddenly.heavyD wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:22 am:It’s like the Mack trade. I'm basically of the same mind. A good move by Denver but I can see a variety of outcomes vis a vis the quality of the Raiders vs Denver next season.FLORIDARAYDAH wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:33 am:Exactly. At the end of the day I think the Raiders will be better as well with the new staff. I don't see this trade as moving the needle for us one way or the other

Herbert choked away a playoff appearance? That is very wrong. It was him that converted so many long 3rd and 4th downs to get scores or keep the the team alive when needed. Blame his horrible defense that let the team down. If it was the opposite situation for Raiders you know damn well Carr would have crumbled and game would have not even go into OT. The season ended perfectly for Raiders in Cinncy, Carr failing by throwing a BS interception and that's what he is.Be_Easy_25 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 5:01 am:Let’s check the tape.
Pretty sure this is what I said about the entire situation.
This is exactly how it works.
Yep.
Herby is overrated and choked away a playoff appearance for his franchise. Not like it’s a franchise that has seen a bunch of success either.
Enjoy his stats and late season meltdowns, Raider fans (allegedly).

I hate the broncos but feel they will ultimately become pretty clear winners in short time. Draft picks can be fools gold as we know all too well. Unless behind the scenes Wilson was refusing to play for them… I think this will be a trade they quickly regret.bulldogsblue wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:15 am:Honestly, there is nothing clear about it. All of those teams except maybe GB are good all around teams even without their qb’s. None of those qb’s are going to the Jaguars or Jets and winningOaktown Superman wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:27 am:An elite QB cures a lot of ills.
Bucs don’t win SB without Brady.
GB ain’t a playoff team with Rodgers.
Stafford puts Rams over the top.
Chiefs are a shell of themselves without Mahomes.
Allen makes Bills exponentially better.
No Burrow no SB game, or playoffs.

Didn’t say it outweighs the contributions of the others, I said it matters above all others.KillerRaider30 wrote Wed Mar 09, 2022 4:35 am:
On a 1 to 1 the QB position is tops. No dispute.
But im not buying it outweights the contributions of the other 45.
I think the offensive line would like to have a talk.
To the extreme
Would a NFL QB with 45 high school players have a better chance at beating a High school QB with 45 NFL players?
