Teams can turn it around quick, but us Raiders fans are used to the opposite, so we always expect the worst. I for one think that this team is better than the record with a better QB. Add more talent on top of that and they should be a team competing for the playoffs.FLORIDARAYDAH » Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:42 pm
Gotcha and I agree. He can't lay another egg and expect to keep his job. Mark thinks we are closer than we areDrDUne wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:29 pm:I’m not trying to advocate for Gruden. But the team in Las Vegas did go 7-9, 8-8, then 10-7. And then McDaniels took them to 6-11. My only point is that perhaps McDaniels feels like that regression could lead to termination if he isn’t able to turn it around, starting next season.
That may be fuel for an aggressive upgrade at the most important position on the roster. Again, just my thought. I’m sure a guy like Demeco Ryans with the Texans is assumed to have a much longer period of time to get things right.

The raiders pushed all in signing all them contracts last year..this off-season they want to keep JJ and davante happy.....with what I heard from them 2 in particular in interviews this week I think Ziegler and McD are going all in on Rodgers and I'm ok with thatrich72 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:03 pm
Bankrupting our future does sound kind of funny.Attyla wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 5:07 am:If Rodgers is our QB in 2023, I will just hope we pull a Rams and bankrupt our future for one shot at the ring ala the Bucs
If we get that, I can care less about the next three years as we recover. I want to see one last really great Super Bowl victory. The Dirt Nap Clock is ticking away and I have earned the right to see us win it all after enduring the last 32 years of the roller coaster of mediocrity.

Scared money makes no money and the Raiders can't bank on jimmy g, Aaron Rodgers is more of a sure thing than Stidham or a rookie. A rookie could be the way to go, but look at the jets they drafted Wilson at #2 and they are pursuing Rodgers now.
It's never a for sure thing, but Rodgers did win the MVP 2 of the last 3 years and the packers mainly won because of him. It's a huge risk, but people including me love Adams in the silver and black, even though I didn't want him at 1st because I wanted the Raiders to build a defense.
All I know is if the Rodgers goes to another team and they win the Superbowl like what happened with Brady, it will be a damn shame. The Raiders offense just needs a real legit QB and Rodgers is it.
People want Payne and he won't be cheap, but he won't make an impact the way Rodgers will. It's a QB driven league and if Ziegler is legit he should be able to find players thru the mid to later rounds of the draft and in free agency either way.

It’s hilarious that people are mad about Rodgers possibly becoming a raider because it comes at the cost of sacrificing the future.JRaider17 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:54 pm
If they aren't capable of building a long term winner, I also doubt they are capable of building a short term one.DSOTM wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:48 pm:It’s hilarious that people are mad about Rodgers possibly becoming a raider because it comes at the cost of sacrificing the future.
What makes anyone think this HC, GM and Owner are capable of building a long term winner?
I’m sick of hoping that every year is finally going to be the year.
Do whatever it takes to get Rodgers.
Outside of the Gannon years this team has been shit for dam near 40 years. The defense is going to suck so just accept it, we need a Qb who is going to get us 30 points at least a game .

Yeah looking at the recent couple of decades I think our future would be impossible to sacrifice.DSOTM wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:48 pm:It’s hilarious that people are mad about Rodgers possibly becoming a raider because it comes at the cost of sacrificing the future.

The Gannon years proved we can at least have short term success. This team should have been sold when Al died. Mark is a embarrassmentJRaider17 wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 9:54 pm:If they aren't capable of building a long term winner, I also doubt they are capable of building a short term one.

Where is it written that we can't draft a QB and have Rodgers as our starter.Raider727 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:19 pm
Just a thought: Rodgers and Stidham as the backup, so the Raiders don't have to invest a draft pick on a QB. Or Rodgers and Hooker in the mid rounds.Raider87 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 10:52 pm
Rodgers has played the QB position as well as anyone in NFL history ,especially as far as the technicalities like release, mechanics, touch and accuracy. Also one of the best at improvising and making plays out of nothing.RaiderFan1 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:22 pm
Would Rogers even fit into McDaniels offensive scheme or would McDaniels have adapt his offensive playcalling to suit what Rogers has done his entire career ?CWood24 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:39 pm
Rodgers isn’t worth giving up any 1st for16 to 88 » Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:42 pm
I believe he would have to master what is in place and zero reservations he couldn't do it. I don't believe they change the entire offense for one guy as opposed to the one guy they would be giving a lot of money to and trading for to figure it out.RaiderFan1 wrote Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:22 pm:Would Rogers even fit into McDaniels offensive scheme or would McDaniels have adapt his offensive playcalling to suit what Rogers has done his entire career ?
