I really want a defensive player at 7 man.Dark Horse wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 6:38 pm:Do people really think there is a chance in Hell Brady to the Raiders actually works?

With Adams, Renfrow, Waller contracts, plus if we sign jacobs, who will be in his 6th season as a rb.... we are in win NOW mode. You cant wait around for 2 seasons for a young QB to develop on the field.Dark Horse wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 7:46 pm:And if any team can cock block Brady, it's the Raiders. He has never had a losing season but he is clearly in decline. Nothing lasts forever. There is a HUGE downside to signing him and no one is acknowledging it. Brady will not see himself as a Bridge QB just because we do. So we waste at least two year, stunt youth player development and end up in cap hell.

You get brady for 2 solid seasons load up on defense and make your run. At that point you will have a seasoned o line that a guy thats been behind brady for a year or 2 and knows Mcds system can come in and have some success. In the mean time we get to watch winning football.

It doesn't matter. What matters is 25 TDs, 9 Ints, 67% completion percentage, and 4694 yards.Rte66BBQ wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 9:47 pm:Newsflash. Brady Bucs had a losing season this year.

Newsflash so did we with Carr at QB. But zero reservations it would have been a different story with #12 at the helm.Rte66BBQ wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 9:47 pm:Newsflash. Brady Bucs had a losing season this year.

This all sounds good to me.Jeremyturner1976 wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 7:56 pm:I really want a defensive player at 7 man.
Just a guess as always, but with Brady I would expect a top 5 offense with two offensive linemen and Jacobs.
We would have to knock it out of the park in FA and the draft, requiring some starters in the 5th-7th rounds and hitting in rounds 1-4.
We have at least 10 positions to improve to the level that our backup should be better than the current starters.
In other words, probably not next year but I will never bet against Brady in the playoffs. I think we win 10 and make the playoffs next year even missing on high picks and some free agents (Which we will). This is 100% assuming Tom plays at around 20 only, which I have no idea about.
I am with HesterLayes, Brady or a week 10 starter top level rookie gives us the best shot of at least a playoff win next year, but to me a real shot at a title is slim to impossible. The defense did not show a huge improvement from week 1 to week 18 so throwing talent at it only takes us so far and that is not top 10.
Option three for me is a trade of 7 for a '24 first, '23 second, and a quality starter at a position of need locking in a big move up with two firsts next year. If I hate the QBs at the top and Brady says no, I would go with Brisset and Stidham next year and make it right by Adams by allowing a trade, with maybe two first round picks to make up for our deadcap, but without any complaints if he wanted it. There are QBs there.
I pretty much hate every other option at this point. Man, if they love AR though you won't hear me complain. We just need a guy worth four years of solid QB development.

He also threw 230 more passes with 6 less interceptions than Carr!TallMarvin wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 10:12 pm:and the additional seasoning on top with a primetime playoff game this monday...

That was such a Raiders pick. I don't mean a Gruden or Mayock pick, but a Raiders pick.HesterLayes wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 5:09 pm:Can’t forget our 3rd round stud,Muse

Agreed. He's just too old now to take a chance on another season. And relying on him to change the culture isn't realistic. Also, why would he come here when there's a much better suitor in SF? A more proving coaching staff, the league's best defense, and a nice set of tools in Debo Samuel, McCaffrey, and Kittle. Give him a couple of wide receivers and then yeah, he can super-manage that team to a Lombardi.Dark Horse wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 7:46 pm:And if any team can cock block Brady, it's the Raiders. I like the Charger's model of picking QBs. They are 2/2 in their franchise QB pickups. The QB needs to be 6' 6", 235 lbs, rocket arm & 4.6 speed. AR 15 is close but he is also very raw I won't touch him until 2nd round.raiders93 wrote Tue Jan 10, 2023 4:18 pm:Im a massive Bryce young fan. I think he’d be our answer to mahomes and Herbert. I also think for us or anyone moving up - you’ve gotta make a deal with Chicago.
It’ll be expensive but that’s about the only way to get young or stroud imo. Houston won’t budge from #2 and takes whichever doesn’t go 1st. You could potentially make a deal with Arizona at 3 to jump Indy and get Levis/AR15 but it’d only be marginally cheaper (than going up to 1) and you’re getting a notably inferior prospect imo - just a bad value.
Sitting pat at 7 if you don’t get Brady should be off the table unless you’re sold on AR who may be the only option actually around at 7. To me though… it’s Brady or make a play at the 1st overall pick. Bryce young is my pipe dream move - I’m sold on the guy and think he’s a day one starter. It’d sting a bit giving up all those draft picks but who knows… maybe we get something for Carr that reduces the amount of future picks involved. You’ve now got 50 million to go out and field a better defence.

But he is first rounder my friend, just like Allen and Jackson who were raw. Cam Newton was raw. Who cares if he is raw if he has the goods? We need a couple of years to build the team anyway. This is not close to a SB rostersilver_ghost wrote Wed Jan 11, 2023 1:40 am:I like the Charger's model of picking QBs. They are 2/2 in their franchise QB pickups. I don't follow college ball like many of you, but what about Grayson McCall? Not at #7, but if we are looking for a guy to sit and learn while a 'bridge' runs it, possibly trading a bit down in the 1st for an extra high, pick or 2.
